Except the punishing taxes hurt the poor exclusively. The Ted Kennedys of this world will never be picked up from the hospital by scooter whereas the poor will just have to suffer along the best they can. Won't they. But carbon credits would never fix that either. Perhaps the best we can manage is to have government forces make everyone equally miserable through punishing taxes... anyone who dares to succeed could be taxed hundreds of times as much.
