Why not just insulate the pipe? Our fittings freeze during the winter...they sell caps that cover them. Protect them from freezing. I had a hydrant put in outside of the greenhouse last year. No water stays in the hydrant so it doesn't freeze. You may want to look into one of those small heaters.

The pipes are insulated. Tho- not the plug in electrical tape.
