Status: offline 		Who and/or what is a Daddy Dom?

What are the fundemental differences between the concepts of Daddy Dom, Dom and Master?

I have begun to think about the possibility that I may identify with being a Daddy Dom rather than an out and out slave Master.

I would think of myself as a sort of amalgamation of Daddy Dom and slave Master.

However for me personally the moniker of Daddy Dom does have some rather unfortunate connotations.

So perhaps Legal Gaurdian Dom would be better?

I would greatly appreciate any feed back you good people would care to share.

Status: offline 		If you do a search here you will find that this has been addressed many times.

Daddy does not necessarily have anything at all to do with age play.  It has more to do with the attitude.  A Daddy Dom tends to be more of a guardian, teacher, protector - though those traits can certainly be found in all Dom/mes.  Most are not as sadistic, but it isn't an either/or choice (Daddy or sadist).  A Daddy tends to be proud of his sub's vanilla accomplishments, seeing them as a reflection on him. 

If you're still searching, keep in mind that each Dom will have his own style.  Know what it is that you want from a relationship, and your preferred way of getting it.  Some prefer barking out orders; others a velvet glove.  Ask yourself if you want to micromanage or give a bit of rein.  You will find the right balance.  If you tune into your sub's needs then even better.

Status: offline 		Like others have said it depends on the relationship. But yes D/lg relationships can and often do for many people, myself included include sex. Some men don't want to be dom and so they allow other men to be what their partner wants and they have no desire to provide.

Some do, and they'll tell you that doesn't make it equivalent to incest play. Some don't, but they'll say that if they did it wouldn't be incest play.

They can justify however they like, but if you're calling someone "Daddy" all the time and sucking their dick, it's incest play. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Like anything else, there're a lot of variations. You might even meet someone who has a dom and a sub, of two different genders... whatever works for that individual person, ya know?

I very much disagree with your assumption.

You are basing your idea on what "Daddy" means to you...it does not exist in that context for everyone.

good point here. define your relationship in your own terms, if you want your girl (sub, slave, little girl, whatever) to call you Daddy, then go with it. be who you are, we are already sitting outside the norm, enjoy what you do and dont put so much thought into labels.

Status: offline 		Actually to me my definition personally of incest play would be that I am fantasizing about the man being my actual daddy the man who gave sperm to my mom and empregnated her* or who legally adopted me in this cae cause my parents aren't biological. And since that's not even close to what goes through my mind, when I call James Daddy , it's not incest play to us.
 
And I call him nothing but Daddy about 99.9 percent of the time, outside of sex, and dureing bdsm times too.

It's just what I call him. Unless ina situation where it wouldn't be ok like at his work place or in front of his family.

What do you mean by enablers,cause to me a Daddy dom would make sure I was successful and proud of myself an did what was right for me, an that's not enabling.

Status: offline 		Forgive me if I'm sticking my two cents worth in where I know next to nothing about.  I've been in the lifestyle near three years now.  The first two I was a slave in a poly relationship and I was one more unhappy little camper . . . er, slave!  I finally had to end it on the last day of last year.  I just could not continue knowing how unhappy I was and how unhappy Master was with me.
 
Since then I've been slowly searching for my niche in the BDSM community and have not known until recently who/what I was seeking.  I knew that I was submissive.  I knew that I am a masochist.  But every Dominant I met was just so "forceful" that I was scared and backed away.
 
For awhile I've been on-line with a guy from GA who says that He is a DaddyDom.  Last week He TMed me and told me He was on His way to FL for a vacation and expressed His desire to meet me.  I agreed and met with Him in Daytona last weekend.  He is the epitome of a Daddy Dom.  If You would like to read what He has posted as what His belief that a Daddy Dom is please go to His profile in collarme as GADOMMALE.  What He writes about Himself is heartfelt but the full view of His profile says it all in detail. 
 
I believe He is what I'm seeking.  I hope His description of a Daddy Dom reaches your hearts too.

Status: offline 		I have a daddy dom and I do not think of him as my father but my opinion is that they are more like fathers they protect and teach and are always there for reassurance and are alway there with a shoulder to cry on. I love my daddy and I know I can always turn to him. He is also a sadist but I really don't like pain and we work through it. I think they are more understanding also. I work but I get chores to do at home and I always look forword to him coming home and saying good job. But my favorite thing about my daddy is curling up in his lap and watching tv or just snuggling. Laying in his arms is the best place I could ever be.

Thank you for choosing to engage in dialogue with me.
My point was regarding why for many (myself included) this dynamic does not include incest play.

My boat  floats quite well... .

its good to laugh, thank you I needed that.
 
In MY experiance being with a DaddyDom had nothing to do with age or incest play.  As children we never refered to our father by or as daddy so the word held no prior signifigance for me.  Now had my ex Master asked me to call him Pa or DaMan it would have extremely freaked me out because those are words I associate with a father figure.
 
I firmly believe that some men are perfectly comfortable walking a thin line between Master and DaddyDom.  It got to were I could look at J's eyes and know whether I was dealing my sadistic Master or my cuddly Daddy.
 
To me the DaddyDom can be sadistic it just seems in those I know personally that they tend to take on a more tutorial role when pushing limits and demonstrate a little more patience with new and frightening acts; but, then thats not written in stone because I've seen some very patient Masters in action at play parties as well.
 
I wouldn't worry so much about the label as much as I'd be in finding your nitch so to speak.
