When the sun illuminated the lens of the Telectroscope next to the Thames, it was, of course, still nighttime in New York. So the screen inside the scope broadcast back only an empty sidewalk silently framed by the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan skyline. http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/05/22/scope.project/index.html Oh wow this would be so neat to go see! The story behind it almost sounds too fanciful to be real.

Status: offline 		It's a couple of HD video cam's hooked up to plasma screens hidden inside the fancy wood and brass tubing fake ends, with the images sent real time via a broadband link. It's basically a giant webcam. Neat idea though.

 It's also the history of the telescope that makes it more interesting that it being a giant web cam I think its absolutely cool!
