So much of what I read in todays world is about worry and unhappiness with how things are going. Not just in these forums but in newspapers, blogs and generally just about everywhere. Concern about the environment, politics, education the health care system and so on. About how the sheeple are so apathetic and ignorant to the problems we face which incidently is something I disagree with. I think that people just don't know what to do other than talking or ignoring it all. Instead of discussing (and sometimes fighting) over what is going on does anyone have genuine suggestions on how to change things? Can ordinary people make things different? Talking about it isn't enough. How can we or anyone implement change?

Today's world in my opinion is much better then even 20 years ago. Then there was a hostile nation that could kill us all with a flick of a switch...still could I guess but much less likely. There is more freedom in the world overall... the plight of many so called third world countries is improving.

We all have learned of the great world wars...imagine what it was like to live in those times. In between the wars there was terrible pollution in our cites from unregulated industry.

If slowly and a great expense the general heath world wide has improved. The  great wealth of a few nations is now spreading throughout the world in a more equitable manner.

I believe the only difference now from then is the vast amount of information we receive. The Internet being the biggest contributor.
Because we hear so much we assume things are worse then ever when actually they are not.

I also wouldn't be too hard on the average person... their main concern is their families and often ignore how the bigger picture will affect them down the road.

Don't read me wrong...there are terrible atrocities occurring in this world...just no more then in years past... we are still a barbaric lot.

Butch

Well I have brought up the same thing. Didn't get much of a rise out of it and I think I know why.

Viable solutions are few and far between because of one main reason. We have these problems because someone is profitting at our expense, and the influence they weild is used to keep them in "business".

I can't make it much plainer than that. I think the main thing, the first step is for the public to regain some control over the public airwaves, the media that is. We are living in the new version of the dark ages.

It has to start with the People, and contrary to all the brainwashing we still have the power, because we are the source of wealth. If we had any solidarity at all we would have boycotts and other populist measures going on to remind big money just where that money came from. Thing is, we can't get the word out because all the major media are tightly controlled.

So that is my answer, find a way to unite the People for a common cause rather than thinking only inside their little box.

Termy do you truly think that people are unaware of all this going on?Or are you saying that nothing can be done because we cannot begin change since we cannot reach the media on issues?

Unfortunately...McCain, Clinton, and Obama are all incumbents.

So much for that theory.

cammille, a question was posed, I provided an answer. It has been said before of course, I know that. If my redundancy offends you, why don't you just come over and whip my ass ? :-)

I maintain my position, so how do we go about getting some media control back in the hands of the People ? Because until that happens, nothing else will happen, well at least anything good.

Your ideas ?

So what about whipping my ass ?

Don't sweat it. I would be summarily ejected from this site if I were to reveal just how radical I am. I mean executions, and I mean starting at the top.

You know it has been done before.

The primary problem with this solution is that unlike years past, today's top is invisible to the vast majority. What most people perceive as the top today, are merely operatives for the top. Operatives are easily replaced.

We cannot implement change until the majority come to agree upon what the problems truly are in the first place. And we are a long way off from being there.

Dream on sheeple!

I can turn off your water, your gas and electricity. I can stop your food supply, and I have plenty of willing volunteers to shoot you if you think to still defy. I shall offer clemency to those who surrender themselves, by way of the media over which I have full control, and those still defiant shall be shot, along with their family and friends, including the children.

Now, go back to your lives and trouble yourself not with such thoughts. All is well. Obedience is happiness - Apathy is bliss.

Just dont ever come together under a common banner of ideology - that would be a problem for us. Still, we manage well so far to keep you arguing and fighting amongst yourselves. You dont even know yourselves, let alone we who rule.

Yup... that too.

The PTB would likely make our lives absolutely miserable, in terms of taking away much of what we now take for granted. Their tactic would either be:

a) Strike hard and quickly, in terms of redirecting the people's focus from rebellion to basic survival... since they know that we here in the US are a heavily armed citizenry. Hungry and thirsty people don't spend much time worrying about politics.

b) Set off a nuke within the continental US, blame it on a "foreign enemy" and redirect the people's focus against that "enemy." More than enough sheeple would buy into the ruse.

c) If the cracks in the PTB's illusions prove to be more on a worldwide scale, they'll orchestrate a world-war, wipe most of the slate clean, and start over.

One thing for sure, the PTB won't ever just surrender their power without exposing millions of innocent people to misery and harm.

Are you talking about the future...or the present?

The future, in the unlikely event that the sheeple manage to come together with the intent to remove the PTB.

The current war is just a pimple on the ass, in comparison to what the PTB would likely do if they feel their power threatened.

Those who aren’t sheeple could:

Stop worshiping false idols; money, ext...
Stop thinking that one purpose is more valuable then another, equally important purpose, just because the other purpose is not theirs.
Stop asking to be controlled.

For the sheeple:

Bright lights,
A catchy little tune,
And a cute phrase like; “The grass is greener, when you grow it yourself.”

follow the money.

what happened is a burp insofar as the "system"  operating.  we expect it to work.

the method to this madness?   real money doesnt want real change. as long as we do anything but constructive action, then big money keeps big money.

see?
