Reading it, just got to me thinking for a moment, about how some people really get so jaded and bent out of shape that they become really unreasonable to the point it defies logic and common sense.

If somebody is going to get bent out of shape over people adding them to their favorites without asking.  I think they are in for a rude awakening to the reality of how people interact on sites such as this, Myspace and elsewhere.

Sure, there is control for approving people as friends.  That should be common sense that one does not have to approve everybody or every request as a Friend Add.  But bitching about people adding them to their favorites without asking.

Favorites really is just a bookmarking mechanism.  It's totally unreasonable for somebody to Bitch and rant about people using bookmarks.

Ok - I see your thought process - but (isn't there always one[;)]) - but is it not equally unreasonable to bitch and rant about the people who bitch and rant about people using bookmarks?  What makes you, as an individual, right and her wrong?
Is her freedom less than yours?
She points out her dislike about those people bookmarking.  Shit pisses me off that could be deemed trivial and just one of lifes happening.  And now, you point out how invalid you percieve her feelings to be, because she may not understand the ways of the net.  So my question and thought is, Why does her ranting and moaning touch you so much and touch your life and/or why do you allow it to?

Ranting is good.  Complaining lets off steam.

I loved the one who whines about people in her viewer's list who never write..they are "stalking her"! Maybe that's why? They are afraid to write to such a nut job?

Actually, I don't believe it equally unreasonable to bitch and rant about people bitching and ranting.  It sort of keeps things on a equal level.  There is nothing that makes me right or wrong in regards this matter.   Her freedom is not any less or more compared to mine.  She excerised her freedom to express and so I have.   Yes, she pointed out her dislike for those people bookmarking her.  I am expressing that the fact that people have the freedom to use the bookmarking (add to favorites) and that it's a perfectly normal thing for people to use in any manner they like for whatever reasons.   Bookmarkers don't have to be lumped into the category of stalkers and etc..  In fact some bookmarkers just might have a sincere interest, and not be some creepy stalker.  Hence where it's self defeating behavior.

In many ways, yes this is somewhat trivial, however, the trival can carry deeper meaning.  Often it's the small things in life that sneak up and bite us in the ass.   I do tend to question things, and enjoy engaging in matters both more serious and even the trivial.

It touched me in thought, however has not disturbed to the point, that it deeply bothers me.  Trust me I will loose no sleep over this matter tonight.

However, in terms of people that might wander into the message boards, if they are indeed bothered by people bookmarking or adding them to their favorites.  This thread is something for them to read and perhaps contemplate in thought about.   I can not force them to stop bitching about people adding them to their favorites.  I can not force somebody to not believe people viewing them are stalking them, just become somebody views their profile.

With that said, a thread such as this, I have started to perhaps give people something to think about, express their sincere opinions, thoughts and views.  Regardless if such thoughts, views or opinions are more serious or scarcastic or smart ass in nature.   Often even a smart ass remark has a degree of serious remark behind it.   Behind every Joke or wisecrack is a certain degree or measure of truth.

Comedy for instance, while it is indeed funny, is also disrectful at the same time.  Yet, it's part of human nature.  Imagine a couple of low IQ rednecks fishing with Dynomite in a boat, an accident happens.  Mind you, it's insensitive to make fun and laugh at people with low IQ's, also to Stereotype all RedNecks as having Low IQ's, or People that go fishing with Dynomite as being on par with Low IQ rednecks.  So many insults it itself.   Yet, there is a certain degree of truth in the matter.  An accident occurs, people laugh.  It's sick and twisted.   Comedy actually is rather sadistic in many regards.  Still none the less there is some measure or grain of truth.

My question is this, why does it bother you if I am bothered or not regarding this matter?

DomAviator -> RE: Mindless Attitudes (5/23/2008 9:46:01 AM)

I actually use the favorites feature just to bookmark people that I intend to write to one day when I get a chance to send them a proper e-mail because I dont do the copy and paste stock response thing. So if you see me favorites you it just means I plan to write you someday when I can do justice to composing an appropriate message. Hell, if you see it beat me to it and write me first either to say hi or to tell me dont bother. Save me the trouble of writing eventually LOL.

BrigandDoom -> RE: Mindless Attitudes (5/23/2008 9:49:47 AM)

One thing I've found recently that some you rant about unwanted mails, getting added to favourites etc are actuaklly not getting any unwanted mails or getting added! I never look at my favourites list, because if they really want to fibnd out about me then they've firstly got my profile and secondly they can message me. If that is too much of an effort for them, why should I bother contacting them?

"Christ! Nobody book me, my profile or webpage without first asking for my permission.  You people have no fucking respect for me."

This post is about how extreme some people's minds work.   Falls into the why, was my Message Deleted Unread, Why don't people respond to my profile, and other similar rants that occur on the message board.

People either don't seem to get how things work on the internet yet.

I should just go and add her to my favorites to Just to Piss her off!!!  Oh crap, bad bad bad person that I am, using a bookmark feature to torture innocent girls online! hahahah Maaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!

Since when is it realistic to expect and demand for people to ask permission before adding to favorites!  In terms of ADD to Friends list, I totally understand.   That why there's an Approval thingy Ma Bob feature built into it..

May be you should supply the profile details so we can really piss them off by all of us bookmarking it!

RCdc -> RE: Mindless Attitudes (5/23/2008 10:03:24 AM)

Does it bother you if I was bothered?[;)]
The issue is.  She moans.  You moan.  Perpetual cycle.  I'm interested why it bothers you so much or why you bring the issue on, in the first place and questioned.  It would bother me if it touched my life.  It doesn't.  You don't have to answer me, it would not make an impact whatever the outcome.

I just think to moan rocks.  It can be incredibly negative to build up anger or dis-satisfaction quietly for many people and I simply don't see the point of moaning about moaning unless that is the reason.  I am not moaning about the moaning or complaining, and it isn't a bother, I am interested in the way and why people see it as negative.

Well, I reject people who want to put me on their friends list when I havent even talked to them. They have a favorites category for bookmarking. Even though I dont add people as friends without actually e-mailing with them or knowing them from the forums, I would hardly say I have a stick up my butt. Oh wait maybe a stick would feel really goooooood?[8D]

rofl, what kind of stick lushy?
