" The trump card Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton held in her faltering bid for president — her support among the superdelegates who can control the fate of the Democratic nomination — began slipping from her grasp on Friday as Senator Barack Obama moved into the lead on this front, with uncommitted delegates declaring their allegiance to him as others deserted her." NY Times May 10, 2008

Myself, I'm glad this competition between the two of them has been drug out. It's been quite an eye opener for me. I started out backing Hillary over Obama, back when the rest of the candidates were still in the race. It didn't take that long before she went off message, and began playing "election BS." I switched to Richardson for a while, but it became obvious that he wasn't quite right either.

After watching Obama hold himself above the fray, and not stooping to the same tactics that she has, (the beer swilling, the BS stories about being a gun owner, the Baron Munchausen stories about sniper fire) I finally jumped track to Barak Obama. I think the rest of the base is seeing much the same.

I think we have the right guy. The question is, will superior character triumph over America's inherent racsism? Or will George Bush continue to run the US into the ground via a proxy third term?

When Obama gets the nomination, the Democrats will give the White House to John McCain.

I dont really think at this point that Obama is electable. Many of these Reagan Democrats, old white women, and die-hard Clinton supporters will not vote for Obama even if Hillary is on the same ticket.

Obama has yet to prove he can win over those voting blocs. I think especially those Reagan Democrats are vulnerable and could see some of them move towards McCain. If that is true, blue states like Pennsylvania and Michigan may be in play this November. Had Clinton been the nominee, those states would be safe blue. I think Hillary would have also been able to win both Florida and Ohio...Obama not so much.

LOL, like anyone who agrees with anything bushlike is electable in any capacity.

So, Hillary runs vice president, that could happen.........if Obama wins, (there aint no contention between him and ANY republican candidate, unless you want to haul Ronnie Rottencrotch around till he stinks) and the nigger will get it inside of his first 100 days in office, and Hillary is prez.

Oh, Obama, we hardly knew ye.

Realistically,

Hillary is going to do everything she can to make sure McCain is elected now that she is sure to lose the nomination.  She doesn't care about her party.  She cares about herself, and she wants to try again in 2012.  I think she will probably succeed.  Because of the Democratic Party's idiotic reliance on superdelegates, both camps are going to claim the other stole the election.  The Democrats never can seem to come together on anything.  They had everything going for them this time.  A sinking economy, the loss of civil rights and privacy, a costly war that we will be dealing with for 30 years, and a national debt that will still be there when I am an old man.  Of course in true form, they dropped the ball as usual.

If she truly cared she'd quit.  Almost everyone can see that now.  Of course, they'll forget it by 2012.

I supported HRC for a long time but I've come to the conclusion that not only won't she win the nomination I strongly don't want her to win. She went dirty first and that isn't something I can easily forgive. Now she keeps dragging this out in some sort of vague hope that something will happen and Obama will drop out or something.

She needs to publicly end her campaign, endorse Obama and get to work getting her supporters to support the party ticket. That coupled with a voter registration drive especially in the south would mean McCain's defeat and likely a breaking of the GOP's hold on the south. Which would change things in this country and in the GOP for the better.

It is a shame that my vote won't be counted.  I certainly won't vote for Obama, the windbag, nor can I, in good conscience vote for McCain.  I am almost certain to vote for someone else who cannot win, hence giving my vote away.  Personally, I wish the media would leave their opinions out of it, & just report raw facts without their endless editorials that hurt the democratic process.

Unfortunately, until the electoral college goes away or is somehow ammended, our votes don't count anyway.  They never have.

I agree with cyberdude simply beacuse Obama refuses to cover his hand over his heart in respect to the American Flag.
Now, that my friends, should be an eye opener.
Hillary is a good speaker.  Whether she is going to be able to pull it off, I don't think so because of the math.
It will be a dirty, nasty, mud slinger at the convention.
Guess what? The republicans go first.
I would vote for Hillary, but not Obama. I simply cannot bring myself to vote for another republican right now.  We need help.  We need help fast.

Oh sure she can...

If McCain wins the general election this year, she can try again easily in 2012 and Obama will be out of the picture since the Dems have a habit to kill off their wounded.

Also if Obama were to win this year, she can try to run against Obama in 2012 if she wanted to. That's what happened in 1980 when Ted Kennedy tried to run against Jimmy Carter. Though Ted didn't win that bid.
Even when you are president and run for a 2nd term, you still need to win your party's nomination again. Hillary can try if Obama turns out to be a poor president.

Actually, even though that isn't true, if it were true it would be a reason that would make me vote for him.

I hate fake patriotism. Anyone can wave the flag and talk big and then steal from you and send people to die for the good of god and country - look at Bush! That's how we got into this mess with him - people believed his cornball routines.

A real patriot wouldn't suck the cock of big oil nor that of the military industrial complex. A real patriot would encourage a robust middle-class instead of stealing from it. Etc.

But we can have how ever many more years of a Prez with sham patriotism as you like provided you are willing to fall for the same lies again and again an again...

I mean, why don't you vote for the next Prez based on something meaningful like the size of his or her ears?

Extremely sad that Obama is full of fluff and nothingness more than ever, and as much as I love Hillary, and will root for her til she steps out (and am hoping somehow every single person left to vote will vote for her...) but anyway, I will vote for Obama if its McCain vs Obama, because as bitter as I am, I'm not so bitter that I'm going to be stupid. Our country WILL be destroyed if he is in office. There is no question. (McCain). Not sure if there will be a 2012 election, if he is. And the global warming and with someone else making it worse and not better, who knows what will happen to the physical Earth as well. So Obama it is, if I have to. But I really just think he is all hot air. I know they are all politicians in this and no one is perfect, but at least she had real ideas. Though honestly, I think it may all be past the point now. Everything is impossible to get past congress, etc. Though, if Obama is any man at all, and not arrogant, he will forget what Kennedy said about there not being a "dream ticket" and ask Hillary to be VP. Because it's obviously what the people have expressed they want. And it's the only way to heal anything among the democrats.

Agnew, took his pin off on the solemn occasions when he received bribes in the White House. Somehow, the flag pin did not improve the character of either man.

Don't feel bad.

NO-ONE'S votes are counted -- And NO-ONE has *ever* been able to prove to me otherwise.

Hermione, our country will be no more destroyed by McCain then it will by Hillary.  The president can only do the amount of harm CONGRESS allows them to do.
If Obama wants to live through the next four years, he won't put Hillary on as VP.  That woman has a trail of bodies behind her that would make Ted Bundy proud.  If shebecame VP, Obama would die and she'd take over anyway.

I think Obama may win, but I don't think he can lead. The day after the election when the Republican attack machine swings into action & the G.O.P. monolith in Congress opposes every initiative I think Barak will be paralyzed. I think Sen Clinton has the experience & the relationships in D.C. after nearly 20 years there to move the country along.
