I'm not doing too bad on my pension. Funny, no-one wanted to be in the military in the 70's-90's. I was making about $16,000 a year back in those days while a lot of the guys I grew up with were Union Truckers making $40-$50k a year back then and they laughed at me. This area (Myrtle Beach) is growing so fast that they have been advertising for Firefighters, Police Officers, Teachers and they said on the News that we have a shortage of 20 Para-Medics! They even offer a "Moving Package" and "Mortgage Package" for Para-Medics! This area is Booming! New Post Offices, new Hospitals, new Fire Stations. A lot of retirees from up North are moving here and buying new houses and condos, furniture, and especially new cars! Seems like all the guys I see driving brandnew Corvettes, Mustang GT's or Shelby's even are in their 50's-60's There's a LOT of money comming to this area! A great place to start a business. Plus, we just had the 400 acre "HardRock Cafe" park open and we'll be getting some top rate music groups here. And if you have a "degree" in sociology, psychology, or political science Starbucks and Home Depot and the restaurants will offer you a job.
