I've seen you refer to "my M'Lady in many posts, and I feel this thread is as good a place as any to ask: what does M'Lady mean? I thought it meant "my Lady" as it did in Victorian times (and even today in England). Does it mean something else here? pip, trying to understand An honest question deserves an honest answer, pip. You are basically right. It is a hyphonated version of 'my lady'. Just around the time that I was considering a name for clip, I realized there was also a need to decide what it was that he would call Me. From My own evaluation, I had some reasons that I chose not to have him call Me 'Mistress'. Of course, one of those being that he wasn't collared to Me, but I didn't want him calling Me Ma'am, like every other Dominant female. I've always been a stickler for a sub involved in a dynamic with Me not calling Me by My first name (to Me it's a sign that something is terribly wrong at the moment and needs My immediate attention) so an alternative was needed. I chose m'lady. Time has passed and he is collared now. He's earned the right to call Me 'Mistress' since then, and does on occasion. However, between those, I had grown rather fond of m'lady, since he's the only sub who has ever called Me that. So, when you see My sub say m'lady, you can take it to mean the same as 'the Dominant I'm collared to' or 'the Mistress I serve'. Thank you for asking, pip. I hope I didn't bore you.
