Am I the only one here that noticed that "she" is worried about "her" PROSTATE???

Here is my advice to you...if you are not happy with your doctor..find another one. If they are not working hard enough to find out what is wrong..find another one. It could be hormones, even though they say no its not..it could be your thyroid..it would be a million differnt things. It could be anxiety or stress. I lived with night sweats every night for three months. No doctor could find out why. I was 39 years old at the time.. not going thru menopause. Guess what...as quickly as they came, they went away. Don't freak out too much, sometimes our bodies just freak out a little bit...it doesn't always mean something serious. If your endo doesn't have the bedside manner you like, find a new one....

well 1, you need a new cardiologist...don't wait for something to happen to him, just find a new one...you have artificial parts...after 23 years, you might need a bit more than a once a year check up and a "you're good to go"...the technology they have today is not what they had back then, and no, having your rib cage cracked open isn't any fun...but on the link provided, one of the potential causes listed was specifically valve infections...with a new doctor, they will do the pain in the ass all the checks and what's going on inside you things and even if it is nothing, you will be able to say it's nothing, and we won't have to hear about how you died because of stupid doctors from someone...umm yea...so...be proactive about your health care...you can tell there is something wrong with your body, don't let them tell you it's "nothing"...don't freak out...do some research, google is your friend, but trust trustable websites - webmd, mayo clinic - not g-stringhomie's blog...
the cancer most often associated with nightsweats is lymphoma, again, google, find out if you have any of the other symptoms - i have rarely heard of lymphoma with only one symptom...and unfortunately i have known a few people with it...
and if your endo is not doing enough - though he is doing something - get another one of those too...

yes i seen that... "such as endocarditis (inflammation of the heart valves)"

but wouldnt i have died long ago from that?? or had a heart attack or something serious?

What are the symptoms of endocarditis? Patients with endocarditis can develop:

fever,
fatigue,
chills,
weakness
aching joints and muscles,
night sweats,
edema (fluid collection) in the leg(s), foot (feet), and abdomen,
malaise,
shortness of breath, and
occasionally, scattered small skin lesions

only problem is....thats EXACTLY my heart condition...so...my cardio could be wrong! but i dont suffer all those...only shortness of breathe, fatigue(im always tired), weakness and nightsweats.

For what it's worth faery, I'm nowhere near menoapuse, according to my docs. but I literally sweat thru sheets and pillows.....at least two or three times a week. And they have no idea why I do it either....it has nothing to do with the temperature in the house....I run the a/c year around.....as long as I'm not paying the bill anyway....my place is always at least 65 degrees, and I still wake up drenched and freezing. (The freezing is just the result of the sweat evaporating off your skin).

It sounds like you have a good deal of dissatisfaction with your doctors.....dump them and find new ones if possible! Find one that doesn't write everything off as"no big deal". Especially your cardiologist...with the technology we have today, they should definitely be able to come up with a valve that won't leak!

Good luck, I know it's frustrating as hell to have an unknown health issue going on. Been there, done that, sent the t-shirt back! If possible, try for a female doc, they seem to be a little more receptive to actually listening to a person. I've lived with this body for 47 years......I know when it's not right....as I'm sure you do, too.

I second the motion to get another doctor, although I realize when you live in a country where health care is 'guaranteed' it can be quite difficult to receive.
Is it possible to switch docs?
Can you do some research first and find one you really like, or are you kinda stuck with whatever you're stuck with.

dear gods. ANYTHING on my feet will have me overheated in no time flat! my bedroom....a fan year round blowing across the bed, and i kick all the covers off. wolf is on the other side of the bed wtih the comforter nearly over his head and sayin he's cold.

Simple Question.....

Have you had your Thyroid checked? So far EVERYTHING you mentioned sounds like Thyroid Failure or Thyroidal Overactivity. Both can cause UNBELIEVABLE sweating.

its not endocarditis...

my cardio just called me and explained i would have to have fever and the nightsweats would be every night....and i wouldnt die but i'd be very very sick and would require immediate surgery.

so its either nothing, hormones, or cancer...already got ultra sound and xray booked for cancer.

sorry steel i dont want men in my life. i need women in my life..i am too stressed out from men..i have 3 male roomies as it is..and im stuck here because of my funds since im on disability and cant live by myself due to funds.

Well then, if the Skene's glands are the "female prostate", then the clitoris is the "female penis", right? And the ovaries are the "female testicles". Or the testicles are the "male ovaries".

it is there...approx in the same place as it is for a man. The theory i am aware of is when a fetus forms it is of neither sex...thats why men have nipples, and why a woman has a postrate.

Sorry, I can see the point several of you are making, but men have a prostate gland, and women have the Skene's gland (or glands, I already left Wiki). Just as women have ovaries and men have testicles. They have kind of similar functions but they're different organs.

I stand by my original belief....women may have a prostate-like gland, but they don't have a prostate gland.
