OP, if you can't stop delivery, or change the address and your 'rents do, in fact receive and open your mail, there is only one thing to do , and it never fails. Deny, no matter what, that you requested the publication. If they have access to your PayPal or whatever...DENY IT WAS YOU.  Claim id theft or just bewilderment, whatever.

Dear OP:   There are no accidents.  On the other hand, there are LOTS of fuck-ups.  Hell, look at the replies you received.  What a bunch of nasty, selfish jerks we are.  (I especially treasure the useful information that it is a crime to open someone else's mail -- stupid advice and incorrect in this case.  It is a crime to open someone else's mail if the mail is not addressed to a common address.  And besides, in my experience family dynamics are ALWAYS enhanced with accusations of Federal felonies.   Fucking morons abound.  But I digress.)

I do like basing one's life tactics on Shaggy.  I personally find that I model my behavior on old school.  You down wid O.P.P.?  Yah...you know me....but again....I digress.  I wonder if that's why I'm alone?

Here is what you do:  You open the package in front of your parents.  You say "DAMN...He sent me the wrong book.  I ordered "Nazi Lesbians eat Puppies for Easter!"   Now I have to send this trash back.  Trust me.  They won't dare to ask a thing.

Works every time.

Was my first thought, but then I remembered how easy it is to send it to the wrong address using paypal (if you have more than one.)

Feign outrage.  Your friends ordered the book and had it sent to your folks' address as a gag.  You stomp in, pick the book up, and storm back out the door vowing to burn the offensive material on your friends' doorstep.

This was my initial thought, and I stand by it. They won't want to think you are so terribly naughty as that, and simply saying "I don't know what that is, or why it came here," without any embellishment, hesitation, or wavering will work fine. Get hold of them as soon as possible, tell them there is a shipping issue, as many others have said.......Ive had this several times when people forget just what they are ordering, and  I have changed addies for them, as long as they can prove all the details, info etc. it happens a LOT:) and to myself tooo, too many times for comfort. And I have no shame at all, so we all do it, it jst depends on the level:)

Haha, I told mom I ordered a bridal shower gag gift.. and that she probably shouldn't open it... O well.. I suppose if she does it's all on her then. [8|]

If my dad opens it, then I'm going to be out a 100$ book... when I was younger, he had a fit of anger and threw all of our national geographics outside because there were native boobies in one of them.  Wee. Also contacted the warehouse, they better get back to me soon >.>
