So... I just purchased this online. Not a problem getting it delivered to my place, my landlady thinks I'm odd anyway if it happens to have a weird return address or something.. but NO... I'm a freaking idiot, and somehow I selected my parent's address instead of my own during the Paypal checkout... My parents are extremely conservative, very very Baptist... and sooo goddamn nosy... they are so going to open that package.... This is not good at all... I don't mind other people knowing what I'm into, but I'd like to not strain the relationship with my parents, know what I'm saying? I fail at pay-pal.

If you seriously don't care to out yourself to your parents, you could play this off by just being a little wierd. Make it about just enjoying the artwork (it's not like it was graphic porn or a dildo or whip), and it gives your parents enough to believe you're a bit strange but still ok. Sometimes that's all people need, a way out. People will believe what they're more comfortable believing. How else can you explain McCain's popularity?

darchChylde might have a good idea there. I think if I were you I'd say it was a gag gift for a bridal shower or something like that. If they wonder why you had it sent to them instead of your place explain to them that the subject matter was not something you were comfortable being associated with but as they are a married and older couple you figured no one would care what they got in the mail. Basically offer up some bullshit as darchChylde says - the way out...

See, I got my family to stop going through my shit when I was about sixteen and used to purposely leave really graphic porno DVD's laying around my room in plain sight. The plan was to find the most obscene, weird shit and just basically scar them for life every time they tried to snoop. It worked. The psychological damage that's been done is probably irreversible, but hey, at least I've got my privacy! To this day, I can turn to my grandmother and say "Don't open my top drawer, that's where I keep my porn" and she'll not only respect my privacy but also know that I'm not kidding.

Call them up and ask it to be transshipped. It's taking a couple of days to go from their warehouse to your place, it can easily be redirected by the shipper. This assumes a commercial shipper such as FedEx, DHL or UPS. If it's via the post office, then you're probably out of luck. Worst comes to worst, they'll hold it at your local facility and you'll have to go pick it up with a print out from the seller including tracking number. Call the shipper now and tell them there won't be anyone there to sign for it so you need it to come to your place or for them to hold it.

Call 'em and see if you can get the shipping address changed. Chances are good that if it hasn't been shipped they can fix it for you. Otherwise, time to camp out at your parent's place until it is delivered.....
