Awww, I always thought they smelled kinda like pumpkin pie.  And I love me some pie!

I only smoke menthols when I have a cold.  Helps with the sore throat and all.

actually, I think it is about time that CM let us form groups within the site. that way, for those who like the regular forums the way they are, it can stay that way, and those who have particular interests will be able to chat with others of the same vein without (much.) fear of reprisel.

About the chatroom, it is something that will probably take alot of time, patience and effort.  When you get a substantial amount of people interested, then poll for times that work best for most people. (can't make everyone happy.)

Good Luck!

[:D] Yea bout time, Ive not much luck with goths, Croydon is soo not the place for goths. Im all up for this networking.

SirMaxMaster -> RE: Goths on Collarme (4/8/2008 12:09:17 PM)

The Plan: (to foster Gothic Chat and Networking.)

1) Keep goth, goth-fetish topics going on the messageboard (use 'Goth' in the subject)
2) Start or enter a gothic chatroom at midnight in your time zone. lets make midnight the goth clubbing hour. Call the Chatroom Goths_on_Collarme

If I get there first I'll start one off. I'm UK GMT+1 / = BST (british summer time)

I don't know if this will work but there does not seem to be many more options here. Except all goths to add each other on sight on their friend lists!?

Well here's hoping for more friendly contacts

So...you want to flood the boards with "goth."

And all "goths" have to add each other as friends?

Nothing wrong with subcultures and all that jazz but that sounds like over kill.

I dont smoke cloves. I smoke menthols...but I like the contrast of the white paper against the black of My nails...Cloves smell like burning hippies...thats what I used to tell My old roomate when he smoked them.

i wanna burn a hippie...but not my mom...it's kind of interesting to get us together and i get all into something and she usually ends the conversation with "do you have to be so grotesque?" ...cause she's all peace and flowers and i'm all blood and guts...but in a werecat kind of way, not a vampire way...

actually i am a baby goth if anything...with pink and purple and black and sparklies...it grosses out all the uber goths who take themselves too seriously, but i am ok with it...cause my Owner is a perky goth...he sometimes wears hawaiian print with his morbid sense of humor...it really fucks with people...((he doesn't like emo tho...he is fond of the quote..."emo, it's like goth, but for pussies"))

anywho...thats all i got for now...

I think they'd classify you as a "graver."

And there's nothing wrong with that.  I love pink things, I love the 80s/new wave stuff, the fruits street fashion from Japan, and my room's plastered in Hello Kitty and Tinkerbell.

faerytattoodgirl -> RE: Goths on Collarme (4/8/2008 3:57:13 PM)

i have a goth faery tattoo...because yes my dream is a goth Mistress...but it will never happen because most are subs and very straight and 20 yrs younger than me.

Eiseria -> RE: Goths on Collarme (4/9/2008 12:39:57 PM)

My friends call me a rare happy goth.    XD

SirMaxMaster -> RE: Goths on Collarme (4/9/2008 3:57:17 PM)

Interesting posts since my last one.

To faerytattoodgirl it seems pretty much one of the gothic lifestyle 'jobs' is prodomme. There are certainly a few in Glasgow, Scotland UK in case you want to take a holiday over summer :-) most are, tall, tattooed, amazonian, bi and love to have a female pet or two!

To Eiseria there was a 'happygoth' group for ages in London. they used to meet for pizza, swimming and boating in hyde park!

Age does not really seem to come into it in gothic culture here. Goths are hot for other goths is about it. As long as they are all old enough to eg buy a drink or whatever, its all cool. UK's Whitby Gothic Weekend is promoted as a family event. Carnival of Souls does the whole goth-fetish crossover thing.

Maybe we should just keep this thread going, it seems to be doing the job nicely [;)]

I've played with non goths before, obviously without the gothic aesthetic, I don't find play as highly charged as it is with the whole aesthetic gothic lifestyle thing. Others may differ. We have glitter-goths and sparkly goths as well as the glowstick waving cyber ones, the trad ones and the lovely egl's...

Its not about proselytizing goth on collarme ~ its really just about cutting the crap and hanging with people you have more in common with, in the hope of friendship and mutual respect being a starting point for something...

I was never cool enough, part of the "in crowd" to be a goth, sadly. Which is a pity because they fashions are nice to look at.

SirMaxMaster -> RE: Goths on Collarme (4/9/2008 8:12:32 PM)

If you are a goth in your heart, then you are a goth! [;)]

patwi -> RE: Goths on Collarme (4/9/2008 8:35:26 PM)

Hah well...apart from admiring the fashions, i've never been into vampires and cemetaries, i'm not all that morbid of a person and i don't really have much interest goth music. :)

SirMaxMaster -> RE: Goths on Collarme (4/10/2008 5:32:44 AM)

Those are often quoted stereotypes. You have to look beyond them

e.g. A good working document on the genre is at wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goth_subculture

*raises a black nailed hand and waves it*

yep, here are "the lovely egl's."  although sometimes as a loli i want to wear something pink, i started out as a goth (glitter and romantic, please! although cyber goths are really hot, i don't think it suits me.) and pretty much everything i own is still black or darkthemed somehow, and i love that way of thinking and looking.

YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!  Oh, that's so awesome to hear, most people have no idea what EGL is...

I used to be pretty active among the loli community when I was in high school, but there were too many elitist bitches who thought that they were better than everyone else because they'd spend their rent checks on Metamorphose Temps de Fille shit instead of trying to, y'know, sew them on their own.

I still have all of my Gothic & Lolita Bibles... I have so many left to get before I can complete my collection... sad!

Moloch -> RE: Goths on Collarme (4/11/2008 9:19:36 AM)

You know when I was going to Higscholl Back in NYC the goths were the most friendly and outgoing bunch of people in that school, made lots of friends among them and learned alot.
All of them just came right out and said they dress they way they do because the way they look. Bastards got me hooked on Bauhaus and KMFDM. I miss the 90's

Real_Trouble -> RE: Goths on Collarme (4/11/2008 10:31:39 AM)

I don't mean to be a killjoy, but the reverse argument is that we already have enough sub-cliques and factionalization, so why encourage it further?

I mean, the draw to the site is BDSM, not goth culture; why discriminate on anything other than BDSM interest and topics?

This is not to say I'm for or against, but I haven't seen a discussion of that.
