SirMaxMaster -> Goths on Collarme (4/3/2008 7:51:47 AM)

Hello

I would like to network with all the gothic people on collarme.com. If you see this post, and you are into the Gothic lifestyle, please put your proverbial hand up and post a reply. I got into domination through the number of submissive goth girls I dated asking me for rough treatment, s&m, cp etc. I have run goth-fetish clubs with solid music policies as entertainment and arts events. Networked with pro dommes to whom I am greateful for all they showed and taught me. I also had an English classical education, one where they beat you mercilessly and non-consensually haha when you are a small boy, and I had a military stint which gave me a chance to increase my pain thresholds to ridiculous levels ('feel no pain' was a motto) so I know what its like to be on the receiving end and what limits should be about. So in short if you know what I am saying, stick your hand up, say hi and lets get a bit of gothy networking going. Dark Kisses.

Master Max xxx

So how about a Gothic Chatroom?
Max

LadyLynx -> RE: Goths on Collarme (4/3/2008 5:52:59 PM)

From what I have seen, there isn't a goth chatroom, but you can make one of your own.  What I would do, is (when you have generated enough interest, like say 5 people.) arrange a time, that people should be in chat, (and then hopefully your chatroom will become popular enough that you can have it open at all times. if that is what you want.)  also coming up with a list of rules would be a good thing, even simple ones like, no PMing without permission in the main room, etc. Advertise on as many different places you can come up with, Goth sites, bdsm sites, so on so forth.

I am not Goth, but intrigued by Gothic lifestyle, so maybe I will pop my head into the chat now and then out of curiousity.  Have a great day and good luck!

Gothic Beauty has a site and message  board  and there are some cross postings of goths/bdsm people .
Its just as i can not limit my label as a goth  and only goth yet i love the clothing , the music and  for the most part the people and the era .I like the old gothic's , and the new goth movment just as i dig Vamps ,and renn people ,corset luvers ,ok well this list could go on for a while  but u get the gist . good luck in your search .

Pyrrsefanie -> RE: Goths on Collarme (4/3/2008 10:09:14 PM)

People have always considered me to be something of "the token Goth girl."

I'm far too cynical to subscribe to that, though.  I always like to be a killjoy and point out that the Goth scene really died around 1995 and that everything we have now is just a cheap imitation of what once was.

That being said, I love Siouxsie and the Banshees, enough black eyeliner to outfit the entire nation of China, and I smoke black cloves.

And my friends and I used to kind of look like these kids:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCaeko9qHrI

LOL
Well I guess I might as well leave a post on this one. I am  a goth. But I am so much more. But yeah I'd be called a goth. In fact I have been all my life. I can't disagree.. Xtra cigs to the platform boots to beyond! Yeah color me goth. ( If you want more details...my profile's good for that)

Aneirin -> RE: Goths on Collarme (4/3/2008 10:20:48 PM)

Goth as I see it is a half way house in between. The goth may seek all that we do, but hides behind the image they do portray

That is so conformist.

Might need to go get an eye exam then.

Goth =/= BDSM.  Goths aren't DS-lite.

Yes,  there is some overlap.  Just as there are overlaps between BDSM and over 'fringe element' groupings.  But identifying with one does not automatically mean one is involved with the other.  And you run the same risk of getting booted out of a goth nightclub for trying to 'scene' on the dancefloor as you would at any other club.

Trust me on this.  Can't tell you how many halfwits I've tossed from places I've worked who had the mistaken believe that a girl dressed in PVC must be a submissive and that,  because we were the "freak" club, attempting to pull shit in public view wasn't a problem.

Just one of my pet peeves.

Acts nonchalant....life sucks man, and then you die-it doesn't matter.[;)]

saradeanna469 -> RE: Goths on Collarme (4/4/2008 12:35:09 AM)

I totally identify as goth, but I rarely ever get a chance to express it where I live.

Depends on the goth, a lot of goths that i have met are angsty teenage types that want to be very very individual and extreme while in a pretty regulated uniform, Many of them talk about "living on the edge" and "pushing boundries" and it seems that for that reason they are attracted to BDSM because its not the norm and oh look how wonderfully differant and deviant we are. It just kinda makes me roll my eyes a bit. Thats not all and can be true of all the differant dressed up sub-cultures that teenagers ascribe to.

To Op, as has been said a goth chatroom may be a good idea, I believe I have seen one before but cant be sure, as you can open it yourself you will then know if there is a desire for it by the numbers who come in.

Ack. What is it with Goths and clove cigarettes? [&:]

i sort of hang around the periphery of Goth... most of the dark & creepy stuff, but i like my music a bit angrier and i'm too shallow for poetry. We do have an old hearse and a 4-foot-tall gargoyle in the driveway, and probably a half-dozen bats (including a mounted skeleton) in the living room...

faerytattoodgirl -> RE: Goths on Collarme (4/4/2008 9:00:43 AM)

goth sites are filled ...and i mean FILLED with minors....and im talking 12-14 year olds....especially vampire freaks site.

I always chalked it up to the fact that they're the only ones you can get, short of the expensive custom ciggies, with black papers

Kirren -> RE: Goths on Collarme (4/4/2008 2:00:37 PM)

I dont smoke cloves. I smoke menthols...but I like the contrast of the white paper against the black of My nails...Cloves smell like burning hippies...thats what I used to tell My old roomate when he smoked them.

I dont drink coffee...I loath coffee...I drink it when I cant stay awake, but I put hot chocolate and marshmallows in it with TONS of cream and sugar.

I wear all black. But thats My favorite color.

I dont think Im a vamp. I would rather be a werewolf.

My Musical tastes range from classical to old blues and jazz.

I identify as Goth...My teen aged daughter hates it. But I think its great when her friends stand and eye ball Me.

I dont think Goth is an inbetween from the normal world to DS...I think that they do over lap...I think that the reason for that is that the Goth culture has accepted or expects that DS touches on the darker aspects of the human race and that they find a kindredness in the life style.

SirMaxMaster -> RE: Goths on Collarme (4/6/2008 2:32:41 PM)

Thanks for all those replies.

I asked support if they would add a Gothic Lifestyles Forum to the [Community Discussions] area on the message board (as they have Gorean and Polyamorous lifestyles areas) but they came back with a start a 'Gothic Chatroom' as well.

Not sure if that would work given the spread of different timezones. There seems to be enough fetish-goths here however to do something.

I appreciate all the comments that have been made. Everyone has a legitimate point of view, interesting experience, relevant perspective and interesting story to tell. Some of which we may even all relate to or been through ourselves.

I'll have a go at a chatroom sometime, if I don't see an instantly recogniseable one  listed. If anyone else gets there first I'll support it.

This Gothic thread on the message board got more replies than I expected. I  sorta want to keep the 'networking' here as opposed to setting up yet another obscure forum elsewhere [;)]

More Gothy postings may be a good idea as well...

talk later then [:D]
