Dith was working as an interpreter and assistant for Schanberg in Phnom Penh, the Cambodian capital, when the Vietnam War reached its chaotic end in April 1975 and both countries were taken over by Communist forces.

Socialists stamping out Capitalism, is what that was all about. Capitalism is the natural way people have eveolved to  deal with each other, and so to impose something as unnatural as Socialism / Communism (to enforce it) extreme Leftists have to resort to those sorts of methods. i think extremism on either side has disastrous results.  Whether  the Khmer Rouge or Fascists...pushing ideologies...(even religion) causes men to become something at the most base level and forget that we are all human beings with an intrinsic value despite our differences in opinion.
