TeachMeTonight -> RE: Subs versus Slaves? (3/18/2008 2:11:01 PM)

You know new people are coming aboard all the time, I have no trouble with the idea of being asked the same question again. It would be a good idea to so some searching, however there are so many times those two terms would hit.... That being said, here is my two cents. A submissive person is someone who enjoys submitting for the sake or submitting. It does not mean they enjoy the acts that are asked of them. I find the most powerful submission takes place when I am doing something I really don't like. Service may are may not be a part of the dynamic. One thing I do think about being submissive, it is a constant choice and I typically think of submission as something that can be chosen for each individual activity and order. A slave is a someone who chooses to accept the dominance of another full time (within agreed limits) and typically does not have the choice for each act. Of course they retain the right to walk away and say no, but they have essentially surrenderd to the will of another. Ironically, I think that most slaves tend to be dominant personalities and have gone to the space of surrender. This is an idea I heard from Master Skip in a workshop. You might google him and see if you can find anything about his teachings.
