ALERT FOR US READERS! - this is about football (the real football, where players kick the ball) and may not make any sense whatever.

For the first time in ages, the FA Cup competition is wide open this year; we've seen teams of the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal get knocked out of the competition - and we're left with only one Premier League club, (Portsmouth - who are always on the edge of relegation themselves it seems!).

The semi finals are
Barnsley v Cardiff
West Brom v Portsmouth

So whatever happens, a non Premier League team will be at the final (Barnsley or Cardiff).

Who'dya fancy in the semis, and who'dya fancy for the cup?

I'm going for a West Brom (theyre local to me) v Cardiff final, with West Brom winning! (and getting into the Premier League this season, along with Wolves!)

E

Real football?
Is that anything like real (& twue) subs, Doms, men & women?  :)

The definition basically depends on who you are talking to and what they were brought up knowing as football.  Different strokes for different folks; it's what makes the world go 'round.  One is not better than another, just different (and we know that being different is OK).

Just asking...
No offense meant.

Have a fantastic day/night.

Nope. Sorry, there's only one real and true football; all the rest are variations on ancient inter-village games where picking up the ball is allowed and size and strength are far more important than skill.

The big day draws near.  Do some of us need to amend our tips?

It would be prudent as my first pick was eliminated. I think it will be a close game with Pompey edging it.

Hmm... I reckon it will be decided by the West Brom v. Portsmouth fixture..

Whichever of these two wins the semi-finals will go on to win the FA Cup. I'd have to go with Portsmouth. But I'm tipping West Brom to stay up.

So says an optimistic Leeds fan looking forward to a season of Championship football. We're coming back! (And having given everyone down in League One a 15 point advantage).

Uhh... Stella?  Unless you have a functional time travel device, you've missed that fixture.  The final is tomorrow - Portsmouth vs Cardiff City.  And West Brom have been promoted to the Premiership... I have missed something haven't I?

No Reality, it's me.. It's been a busy week and I responded to the thread during a 'blonde' moment.

But I still tip Portsmouth.
