LadyEllen -> FA Cup - who'dya fancy? (3/12/2008 5:55:03 AM)

ALERT FOR US READERS! - this is about football (the real football, where players kick the ball) and may not make any sense whatever.

For the first time in ages, the FA Cup competition is wide open this year; we've seen teams of the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal get knocked out of the competition - and we're left with only one Premier League club, (Portsmouth - who are always on the edge of relegation themselves it seems!).

The semi finals are
Barnsley v Cardiff
West Brom v Portsmouth

So whatever happens, a non Premier League team will be at the final (Barnsley or Cardiff).

Who'dya fancy in the semis, and who'dya fancy for the cup?

I'm going for a West Brom (theyre local to me) v Cardiff final, with West Brom winning! (and getting into the Premier League this season, along with Wolves!)

well seeing as my Lord is a huge fan of rugby and the (real football) that you have posted about,we are going for West Brom ourselves as well. it would certainly be on hell of a win just getting into the Premier League this year.(yeah you got somone here in the states who know what you're talking about on this one).

Baaarnsley.

They knocked Liverpool and Chelsea out so they deserve it.

Hmmm Teams that deserve to win rarely do sooo...

Portsmouth came up in 2003 and have been mid-table ever since, narrowly missed European places last year.  Not sure why you think they've been threatened with relegation  in recent years - they haven't.

'Arry knocked Man U out - again - this year, having done so twice, I think, with West Ham.

Pompey will walk it.

Portsmouth are always struggling!

W Brom will beat them no worries

I fancy... a cup of tea.

Well stewed tea, a pie and two Rennies are as much part of football as the ball itself

West Brom have been my outside tip for the cup since the 4th round. Its ironic that the big four have all reached the quarter finals of the Champions league, yet are out of the cup.

As for Pompey, they are a respectable 7th place at present. Barnsley hover above the Championship relegation zone, so have done well to beat Liverpool and Chelsea.

Football is crap, my oppinion, never liked it but if you want someone to suggest someone to win, I just have to go with my birthright, Barnsley. The North.

The most attractive price is West Brom - unfancied to get past Pompey, but if they do they'll have too much for Barnsley and the Taffies.

That's not football.  This is football.

LadyE I am a stickler for the truth as you well know and the fact is footballers kick the opposition first and then the ball.
A bit like clog dancing really, so I pick Barnsley.

The world renowned Man U, they are out, and remind me again what do they get paid? Perhaps they were not hungry enough, then who would be on their income.

Pffbfbfbft.

They don't even kick the ball. they pick it up and carry it.

Edited to add...they pick the ball up, carry it, AND wear layers of protective padding while doing it.
