those were great Gwyn, nice to start my day off laughing.  i've got a sweetheart named lambchop and i'm taking care of my daughters cat right now for her, we affectionately call her "the demon cat from hell."

anybody know anything about those wax/rubber tips you can put on cats claws so they don't scratch the hell out of everything?

AWWWWW, Popeye, that's a bummer....but it sounds like he was already feral.

And I've been the victim of kitty snot several times.....what really freaks you out is when it happens when you're asleep.....scares the bejeezus out of you, trust me!  KB seems to have "fits" of sneezing.....he's knocked himself right off his feet doing it....fell off the bed once, I almost followed him I was laughing so hard!  If looks could kill, I"d be well past decayed!

petdave -> RE: For Greedy and other people Owned by Cats (3/12/2008 6:30:40 AM)

Heh, when i saw this thread i had one cat laying on my left arm so i couldn't type, and another climbing down my shoulder trying to rub her butt on my face...

i loved the Mean Kitty song, especially since our Feldspar looked (and acted) just like that when we brought him home! w00t!

Yeah, "beware of chicks with great bodies in bikinis by the pool giving away "free" kittens."

FR:
The only time my alarm cat gets fooled is on the DST changes (like last weekend). Otherwise she starts off with a soft "prrrp", and gradually gets louder and louder. She'll walk on me, jump back and forth over the top of me, and will ultimately extend a paw with the claws extended just oh-so-slightly and graze my cheek. That usually does  the trick...LOL.

Thanks for the links....!!!!

Vendaval -> RE: For Greedy and other people Owned by Cats (3/12/2008 5:58:25 PM)

Mine was grown quite a bit since he was adopted 6 months ago at age 4 months.  What used to be easy, typing with one hand with him sitting on my other shoulder and being supported by the other arm, is now impossible.  [:D]

He likes to groom me to show affection and that trick with the whiskers up the nose will wake you every time.   [:-]

Vendaval -> RE: For Greedy and other people Owned by Cats (3/12/2008 6:03:45 PM)

I am sorry to hear about this, Popeye.  Some cats stay feral no matter how much you try to domesticate them.

Glad to know you and Bubba are doing well.  How big of a cat is he? ( I have this vision of a big fluffy striped Tom Cat whenever you mention him, like Garfield on steroids!)

That other cat got away.
I think the chick with the nice body by the swimming pool gave me a feral cat!

Yeah, he's black gray and white with "tiger stripes" and about 15 pounds.

See, this is why i always laugh at people who allow their cats into the bedroom. It took more than a few sleepless nights, and quite a few extrications of kitteh from the Forbidden Bedroom of Mystery, but we sleep alone.

However, i've noticed that one of our cats, who is a reasonable eleven pounds, feels like a 30-pound cat stomping across my chest when the food dish is empty. i refer to it as his "protest march"

god, I can't imagine NOT having the girls snuggled up with me in bed...

Amos is 15lbs.  Gracious is 14 lbs.  This morning, Gracious let Amos do the honors of waking me... by tapping my nose, and marching on me... right after she'd been in the litter box.

bitch.

chatondamore -> RE: For Greedy and other people Owned by Cats (3/12/2008 10:20:36 PM)

The baby cat Toby just stands outside the door and meows if you lock him out. That's more annoying than letting him sleep in the room sometimes. Of course, he seems to wake me up precisely 30 minutes before the alarm goes off by knocking things off the dresser, or the desk, or just flat out attacking the walls.

Loki cat will just sleep with me. He's fat and old and knows better than to try and wake me.
