MzMia -> How is daylight savings treating you today? (3/9/2008 8:24:37 AM)

I love daylight savings!
wooooo hoooooo

I am glad they are doing it a month early this year!
We will have at least 7 months of this, it will get dark here tonight around 7:15 p.m.!

I set my clock ahead around 5:00 p.m. LAST night, I do it early so I am not thrown off center.

I am doing my happy dance, I love for it to get dark later.
It is easier for me to drive when it is still light outside.

How is daylight savings/the new time treating you?

i love it to MzMia, the later it stays light the better.  i love being outdoors so much and i'm glad they moved it up, (who are they?).   i'm really itching to get my camping gear out!

aside from forgetting about it and being an hour late for work.... I LOVE IT!!  I'm with you, MzMia.. this is my favorite timeof year :)

RealityLicks -> RE: How is daylight savings treating you today? (3/9/2008 8:36:42 AM)

We haven't shifted yet but having read how happy you are, I've decided not to wait and to change all my clocks now.  [:D]

On a more serious note. there's a shop near me that has started displaying those daylight lamps people use to stave off the blues and I'm thinking of getting one and using it when I need to stay up late and work.

I'm not really feeling the effects of daylight saving at the moment.[8|]

MzMia -> RE: How is daylight savings treating you today? (3/9/2008 8:39:27 AM)

I wish it did not get dark until about 9:00 all year round!
weeeeeeeeeeeeee

Doing my happy dance,

when it gets dark around 5:00 it is depressing.

One reason I love the Caribbean is that you get the same length day all year.  I'm sure it makes people more even-tempered and relaxed.  Although during Summer here in London it doesn't get dark until about 10pm some nights and its really great to have that long, slow evening they don't have in the tropics.

oh my saints...i went out last night and Daddy said be home between 4 and 5 am.  i was so proud of myself for getting home at 330...then realized it was 430...then realized Daddy was asleep so i couldnt call Him to talk to Him.  didnt get to sleep until after 6 am and everybody and their brother started calling at 8...and i probably would have been fine except for the stupid hour lost somewhere between the club and my house.  lol

lilmissattitude, you should do it early next year like I do.
When you do it early Saturday evening, it is less painful, then you have the FUN
of having to remember it is not 7:00 it is 6:00.
lol
I used to change all the clocks in my house Saturday afternoon and it drove my husband
batty.

I'll be doing a lot more grilling during the week, but the shift in the body clock always sucks.

faerytattoodgirl -> RE: How is daylight savings treating you today? (3/9/2008 10:16:17 AM)

atleast he lets you go out by yourself [8|][8|]

daddysblondie -> RE: How is daylight savings treating you today? (3/9/2008 10:24:59 AM)

I'm wondering if, since Bush changed it and we spend 7 months on DST, if we can just make DST the new "standard" time and do away with the whole clock changing thing all together.

Or in the alternative, I suppose I'll just have to make a lot of money and move to Hawaii where I wouldn't ever have to change my clocks...

ownedgirlie -> RE: How is daylight savings treating you today? (3/9/2008 10:27:54 AM)

I would prefer we do away with DST; it's not necessary.

CuriousLord -> RE: How is daylight savings treating you today? (3/9/2008 10:30:28 AM)

I stayed up all last night working.  It just meant I had to all of my deadlines moved ahead an hour.

agreed

you're spending more instead of saving less money on energy costs

MzMia -> RE: How is daylight savings treating you today? (3/9/2008 10:34:44 AM)

Oh I agree, DST should be year round!!

I wonder why this can't be done?

SinergyNstrumpet -> RE: How is daylight savings treating you today? (3/9/2008 10:35:52 AM)

I love this time of year too because I like the fact it says light later in the day, but I am getting off to a slow start

But think how late dawn would come in the winter.  Do we want to commute to work and school in complete darkness?
