Following on from the 'This isn't centipede from the arcade... ' thread, if you don't like this subject matter, move along, constructive replies only, thank you.

As mentioned in the above thread, I've often thought of using leeches during scenes, but as yet, never have. Has anyone had experience of this, or know where I can purchase them for such use? I know there are laboratories that breed them for medical use, however, the ones I have found, thus far, are in the US and it's not feasible to ship to the UK... besides, I believe only medical-based companies would qualify for their purchase.

So, any ideas?

Poor Reality has just blanched at reading this and has yet to close his mouth, poor boy.

I think there are leeches in England that are native, (I am somewhat unsure of this tho) .

Go to a swamp, slough, whatever you want to call it.

get a cloth sack, stick liver or something bloody in it, (ripe is good) and tie a rope on it, throw it in, wait an hour, pull it up, and you are in business.

I hope this counts as a constructive reply.....You are a sick perverted lady, I think I like you....there fore I did some goooooogling for you, snicker....http://www.biopharm-leeches.com/ based in wales I think they have all the info there, but the pics of them made me shudder so I didnt look to far....PS dont let Reality read the rest of this but.......of course a close relative of the leech is the earthworm, much easier to get hold of and none of the sucky blood thing, mind you I think thats part of the interest :) but for the mind fuck, purrrrrrrrrrrr
Otherwise look up catfish bait:)

Once you get out of the swamp Ron has sent you into <smile> you may want to look into holistic medicine shoppes in your area.

There are like a hundred or so different varieties here in the states, around here we use the black ribbon leech as bait for walleyes, most of the others are worthless, the fish don't like the taste, in fact, I think we export them to other states. You might visit a bait store or two and ask if leeches are used for bait in your area.

Yep, I go for the streams and brooks, many times in my youth walking the brooks bare legged, net in one hand and a jar of sticklebacks in the other have I caught leeches on me. Yukky but fascinating creatures. The very thought of being covered in aquatic vampires is a strange one.

But hold, I heard those common leeches that are found in Britain's waterways transmit a bug or other in their feeding.Maybe it is a fallacy like so many other fallacies out there in the public domain, but one has to ask from where did the medics of old obtain their leeches, I would bet Britain's waterways.

Yes, not a bad idea MissMorrigan, we must all be kind to animals, leeches included. Just think how grateful the creature would be,being given the choicest parts of a human to gorge on.

From something I read years ago, apparently virgins are good at catching them, virgins being a magnet for the little suckers or is that more fallacy based on the vampire idea.

I'm not sure why, but I laughed at the visual of Reality leaning precariously over the bank of a stream (I'm not going anywhere near a swamp! I've heard some bad things about swamps and when I go I want to be pickled in gin - with olives, not entombed in muddy sediment where no one can see my middle finger!) dangling a piece of raw liver at anything carnivorous... he'd faint at the first sight of anything moving - I still haven't forgotten his battles with a wolf spider in our bedroom some months ago. I'd have to be the person that would go in and save him... then we'd both be covered in leeches. It's not good, Ron. I need a 'second' for this as it's clearly a two-man job!

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out shortly and I WANT Reality to see all the information, I want him developing a healthy fear of those blood-sucking babies! He knows I'd never be so kind as to use an earthworm, I want him bitten and as those wriggling things are working their towards his engorged todger, I want a camera in his face recording his expressions as they finally realise they're in for the meal of a lifetime - and he's their meal!

I grew up fishing, a really NASTY worm commonly used by fishermen is the rag, it's vicious and gives one hell of a bite so I may have to resort to using those (which I can easily get ahold of).. the only downside is that they don't suck blood, so he hasn't the added mindfuck of having to watch as the leeches swell up on his blood. Now, once I'm done using those little blighters, do you think it fine to flush them down the loo afterwards? One must pay attention to such details

I do recall seeing that they were also available by mail order. If there was ever a time one prayed for secure packaging, this would be it.

The poor boy is shaking his head wildly and has gone to lock himself in the lav. Such a sensitive fellow!

Go to google.co.uk and then images, and type in leeches, some fascinating pictures. There's one of a woman whose feet are covered in claret. Makes for a disturbing image!

On a serious note, I'd much rather ensure any leech used on Reality was purely bred for medical purposes to ensure it wasn't carrying any kind of bug it could transfer to him. It's something I've been fascinated with for a while now, and the thread I mentioned in my OP reminded me... I'm sure Reality is most thankful!

By the way, speaking of virgins, do they exist over the age of fourteen? I wanted to be kind, so raised it to fourteen. I sincerely hope it's a fallacy, I'd hate to have to scour the south coast for one, it'll take me a bloody long time to find one - if ever!

Even I wouldn't go anywhere near something like that, Greedy... it's bigger and meaner than I am lol Plus, I have to consider the safety aspects, if it suddenly exploded and I fainted, who the hell's going to untie me?

Often thought about the introduction of leeches with the water bondage site, those big tanks they shove people in.

Water Bondage is a particular interest of mine, I enjoy that site, although it's a shame they only work with females. Some great ideas though and I've discussed with Reality the possibility of getting one of those huge perspex tanks once we get our house. Imagine the mind fuck involved when someone is tied up and hoisted above the tank only to see the leeches swimming about ready for them!
