My dog loves this weather. She loves all the snow. If I didnt have her I would not leave my house as much. I took my bike to get groceries before the main storm started and began shopping. I realized I forgot my wallet so had to ride back into the wind. I was cussing, but also noticing it wasnt that bad. There is a mountain of snow up to my shoulders in the yard from shovelling and new snow adding on. I am someone who would love to hibernate most of the winter and not leave home. I love being tucked in during the winter. I am so ready for spring (okay not the mud deluge aspect of it.) The snow really is beautiful and all bundled up in warm clothes, not bad at all. I get a kick at watching how much my dog loves it.

I have two pugs and the snow is twice as tall as they are.  So in addition to shoveling our driveway and walkways...we also have to shovel part of the yard so they can go outside!  I need a New Foundland or something!

About the wind, the powerful wind, you can't hide from it. It's makes your cheeks red, may even hurt, messes up your hair and makes you say whew when you finally get the door closed, but you never see IT. You can see the effects of it, you can feel it and you know it's real, but you can't see IT. Try throwing something weak into that wind and see what happens. If you stand outside on a windy day the wind will firmly sting and caress every inch of your body, you clothes will be pushed against you on the side it blows. It becomes easier if you walk in a certain direction. Tears will be blown away the second they appear by such a powerful force. Even words are impossible. You can't fight such natural things. By evening it will slow and become a gentle breeze  that birds ride up and down in dizzying spirals. So when the wind blows feel my power over you painful even, know it can't be stopped and be with me when it turns into a soft gentle touch as the day turns to darkness. Realize when it's calm or strong it's a changing force, but always present. Feel the air on your skin right now. Feel me.

Very beautiful about the wind.  It reminds me of the Christmas carol, do you hear what I hear.  Said the night wind to the little lamb....

While it was debilitating, our snow was also so beautiful...huge mounds of pillow softness, glimmering by the light of the moon.  My submissive and I ventured out for a little walk last night.   The roads were quiet and everyone was cozy in their amber warm homes, the smell and sight of smoke coming from the chimneys billowed into the sky.  It is something to experience...as is all of weather.

lol, i have two short dogs,  a corgi and a chihuahua/jack russel.  the snow is over both their heads.  if it wasn't for the boys going out and playing in the yard i don't think either would want to go out.  they come in and cuddle up together to get warm.  they hate the little jackets they have, they remind me of kids, "but ma, i don't wanna wear that!"

From puppies playing in the snow and peeps strolling down a snowy street smelling the smoke curling up from fireplaces to the Grim Reaper. Thanks, dude...just as I was feeling so warm and fuzzy.. Now bring in the clowns and the mimes. *shivers*

I sat here in the moutains of the Adirondacks in NY with Master  and cherished the fact that being snowed in made it delightful. We had at least three feet of unplowed snow around us and  about 4 inches of ice on the wires:  The sun made it look like diamonds  and we couldnt see the road. Our newfoundland Samual went out in the snow  and we laffed at his antics as he played in the stuff. I would have prefered to do something other than sit in the house today, but we were forced to stop today to appreciate the fact we have a good relationship based on honesty, trust and communication. We made  dinner together and brownies afterwards. We accepted the fact that Mother Nature in her infinite wisdom reminded us how special the pristine delight of winters last stand before spring comes. When the plows came through and cleared our road ( not much bigger than a paved cow path) we could have left and gotten out, but we stayed in and pretended we were still snowed in and got dressed and built a fort in the snow and the six foot stacks of the stuff the plowman made in our yard....Life is good if you take time to appreciate it.
