MsIncontrol -> Submitting to Mother Nature Today (3/8/2008 6:16:16 PM)

Well, we are in the middle of a huge winter blizzard, here in Ohio.  We currently have about 20" of snow.  We are stuck in our house, the roads are only open to emergency vehicles, basically we are being controlled by Mother Nature. I am not a home body..it is very difficult for me to stay in the house.  I am starting to get cabin fever!

I feel I am getting a little taste of my own medicine.  You see, my submissive is someone who can't sit still very long so I like to keep him in bondage..to force him into it.  I feel the same way today...but I have NOT consented to this restraint!

It made me think about what other outside influences have control over us that we cannot escape from?  I don't have UM's..but I could see this as one of those other things that prevent us from expressing our free will at times.  Any other outside influences that have power over you?

domiguy -> RE: Submitting to Mother Nature Today (3/8/2008 6:32:10 PM)

The usual...Gravity, IRS...A woman's menstrual cycle. I think that is about it....I have noticed the gravitational force around me seems to be lessening of late....You wouldn't understand since a woman can't be a "dominate."

However, I once personally witnessed a group of fifty dommes trying to psychically will a pizza to materialize out of nothingness....Approximately fifteen minutes later one of the dommes pointed at a pepperoni on the floor and held it up for all to see. The crowd erupted at what they had accomplished.

I was not impressed. I believe it was stuck to one of the dommes' ass like a bad penny...And it fell off, unobserved, from under her skirt when she stood up.

I hope this post is of use to you.

We have almost no snow left. Instead it's flooding again. My driveway is mostly all ruts and the very bottom was several inches under water when I tried to get out. I'm hoping it's not totally washed out tomorrow. I really need an excavator and a couple of trucks worth of gravel to fix this. Instead it's me and a stone rake on the worst of it tomorrow.

PanthersMom -> RE: Submitting to Mother Nature Today (3/8/2008 10:07:17 PM)

18 inches of partly cloudy in my yard today, and it was still snowing the last time i looked.
back deck's roof collapsed inder the weight of all that snow.  hubby and the kids spent most of the day helping ppl get unstuck or digging out.  they even had to rescue an ambulance that got stuck in front of my house.

my outside influence is actually an inside one, the charcot's joint and spinal osteoarthritis, forcing me to not be able to drive anymore, to be stuck in a wheelchair, to be stuck in knee-high leg braces that have soles that make you look like frankenstien.  it could have been worse, but that's had the most influence and forced the most change in my life.

My nonconsensual submission was to the Corps Of Engineers- who actually put the city of New Orleans under many feet of water. No, it wasn't the storm, that hit Mississippi and blew it to matchsticks.
No house, no stuff, stuck in a strange- and I do mean strange city with negative net worth and nobody to give me the security of a good tying up and spanking when I need it.

My head is going to explode.

What, you folks thought that was over? It's not half over!

SailingBum -> RE: Submitting to Mother Nature Today (3/8/2008 11:40:54 PM)

I see it a little differently several  hydroligist have been predicting that N.O. would flood at some point cuz it's below sea level.  One would thing to build on higher ground or expect to get flooded.  It's all in the choices ppl make.  That is NOT to say I don't feel for the ppl displaced.

This is the one and only time us subbies can relish in a Domina's submission to the elements...and it is Mother nature here..the baddest Domina of them all. However MsInControl..i do not wish illness or want to see anyone hurt or worse as a result of the storm and also wish that your power stays on so you and yours can remain uncomfortably toasty.

Others tried to say I was drinking too much, but I swear I have walked into rooms where gravity was absolutely fucked up.

Interesting question that I thought about and had just written in my journal yesterday because we were having 30-40 mph winds as a front moved through Georgia with temps dropping 30 degrees.

About the wind, the powerful wind, you can't hide from it. It's makes your cheeks red, may even hurt, messes up your hair and makes you say whew when you finally get the door closed, but you never see IT. You can see the effects of it, you can feel it and you know it's real, but you can't see IT. Try throwing something weak into that wind and see what happens. If you stand outside on a windy day the wind will firmly sting and caress every inch of your body, you clothes will be pushed against you on the side it blows. It becomes easier if you walk in a certain direction. Tears will be blown away the second they appear by such a powerful force. Even words are impossible. You can't fight such natural things. By evening it will slow and become a gentle breeze  that birds ride up and down in dizzying spirals. So when the wind blows feel my power over you painful even, know it can't be stopped and be with me when it turns into a soft gentle touch as the day turns to darkness. Realize when it's calm or strong it's a changing force, but always present. Feel the air on your skin right now. Feel me.

Beautiful thoughts..

I needed to read them yesterday, before I went out in it and tried to shop against the winds..
smiles..
we had snow flurries up here in Cumming..
I had to actually pull my car over ( wasn't on freeway yet) because the flurries were soo mesmerizing and lovely that I realized I was watching them instead of the road..
flurries, swirling around infront of my windsheild, just as you described > in dizzying spirals  : )

mefisto69 -> RE: Submitting to Mother Nature Today (3/9/2008 8:13:19 AM)

We left the east end of long island early friday morning - mefisto jr. and I, in his jeep fucking wrangler. Before we got to NJ, the torrents started. We drove in the deluge and horrific traffic until we hit N. Carolina and called it a night. Saturday morning, still raining but we continued south. This time, I was driving. I fought all day to keep that little shit box on the road. 40-50 mph wind is no fun to fight against. The wind kept picking up the Jeep and tossing it from side to side - many times, I thought the hood was going to blow off. We finally saw some sun in Georgia and the winds died a bit as we crossed the Florida border at 4 pm. So, it's typically sunny here in Orlando but chilly - only about 50 right now. Why risk my life in the weather? Well, Jr. starts a 6 month paid engineering internship with Disney on Monday. I came to help with the driving and get him settled in. I'll be bakc to my usual haunts on Tuesday.... I have a life too.
PS.... there were a few chuckles along the way: there Really IS a place called Spotsylvania..... there is an Adam and Eve Outle store just of I-95..... I think it was S. Carolina... then there was the resturant and sex toy store in Ga.

cjan -> RE: Submitting to Mother Nature Today (3/9/2008 8:19:09 AM)

A very interesting question, I think. But consider... how much control do we have, especially when nature is concerned ? Ever been in a storm at sea ? The best you can hope for is that you have a wellbuilt, seaworthy boat and some seamanship skills, and even then, you may be fucked. ( See "The perfect storm")
And how about even our own bodily functions ? Somedays, if you can make it across the street without shitting your pants, it's a good day.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Submitting to Mother Nature Today (3/9/2008 9:42:39 AM)

It's definitely best for doms and masters not to forget their own boundaries and limitations :)

Fantastic post ExSteelAgain.    I bolded your words that were me yesterday.    I was doing a task yesterday that brought out a lot of pleasant and unpleasant thoughts, feelings, emotions, words and tears.   As I look back on the events of the last week, and the way the wind tore through here yesterday, I can see and feel the calming effects today that were left behind from the winds of yesterday.

I think at times we submit more than our physical self to the forces of Mother Nature and may not realize that's what we're doing.

In a house, it's a bit of light bondage, albeit non-consensual. But in a tent - or in a boat, as cjan said - it can get to be more like edgeplay. Mother Nature can really make you kneel down, lick her boots, and beg for mercy.

Diabetes, to a degree (although I'm kicking its ass currently), and after Hurricane Rita came through, I got enough "outside influences" to last me several lifetimes.

ominousdominus -> RE: Submitting to Mother Nature Today (3/9/2008 11:35:32 AM)

I like this topic, altough I choose to use the word accept rather than submit. I accept that there are forces outside of myself that are more powerful than me and capable of affecting me in many ways up to, and including,my demise.
