Status: offline 		I will be the first dissenter.  The "Mid-Atlantic" accent put on by actors and actresses like Hepburn is pretentious and phony.   When I hear it; I think of argyle-clad, blonde girls named "Muffy" meeting boys named "Tad" for a romp in the pool at the country club.

Status: offline 		Me too, kinkbound.  She was so charming in her movies (I loved Funny Face), and her work with Unicef was commendable. 

Hers wasn't a pretentious, mid-Atlantic accent (like Jackie O, for example).  She grew up in Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK and Amsterdam, and didn't reach the States until she was 24.
