Thanks for the info ... I think.  It's like saying thanks for a in-depth report of child abuse or poverty.  Who wants to know, really?

Your post does make me feel better about shunning the term "slave" and feeling an uneasy creepiness when someone else describes it a a kink.  It's like kinking it out minimizes the reality.  It's too real  :(

I can play a little girl though and play through scenes that would make a decent person weep ...but it's just play because I know full well that I'm not a little girl.

I've got a weal twue slave for sale... honest... I'll send you my paypal account info....

If we're talking Charlotte, Stephan, can we get into some serious negotiation here? (And sheesh - "weal" and "twue" as well as hot - got to be worth a fair few bucks).

If we're talking Charlotte, Stephan, I could perhaps manage to take her off your hands; might need a little persuasion but I guess, reluctantly, since there are no other takers, just to help you out. (But sheesh - "weal" and "twue" has to reduce the value I'm afraid).

When I was younger--much so--I read in BDSM magazines and other porn mags and novels about the 'sale' of subs/slaves (slaves).

A google search about this and all I could find readily was some Asian guy selling some females from $10k to $110k.

Actually I knew a girl..that was a white slave.. to some Oil guy in Arabia. He had several, more to entertain his guest.
Sex was hardly ever demanded...but could be requested. LOl in exchange they had a nice creditcard.

In the msn chatrooms were biddings/sales also...symbolic ones. BUt there were couples formed sometimes.

I know this isn't the point of the original post.  But  many events around the country hold auctions.  Usually you can buy a Dom/me or a sub for the evening and the money goes to charity.  It is a fun way to fulfill that fantasy of being on the block and sold to the highest bidder.  Usually, the person buying you only wins the right to negotiate a scene....but it is a lot of fun!  I love bidding on men I would never have asked to play or some hot little fem sub for a night of fun...especially when the money is going to charity.

Slavery is illegal in many countries but not all.

Some problems seem to arise when people from cultures where slavery exists live in cultures where it is illegal -- once in a country that doesn't recognize slavery it can be tempting for the slave to run or for those in the host society to view what happens in that household as wrong. I have mixed feelings about this situation. While I don't believe I have a right to tell another nation how to behave I do feel that when you move to a country you should respect their laws. I think it's a complicated issue.

Other slavery is based on kidnapping or trickery -- both probably illegal in most of the world. Once you are in another country though you can be pretty much at the mercy of those around you.

Other slavery is based on debt, economic basis and often on the shared illegality of the action that you "bought" such as getting help crossing a nation's border. The "enslaved" has committed a crime simply by coming over and now they own a debt, who can they turn to without fear of being sent back. We might think that would be better than such slavery but apparently not for many people who either can't or feel they can't get help.

So above we have both institutional and illegal slavery. That isn't what I practice in my household but it is a word that has value for us so we continue to use it because it isn't just about sex or pleasure here which phrases such as "erotic servitude/slavery" imply nor is it limited as I believe "submissive" implies.

I'm not sure what I'd do if I were offered the change to buy someone from the above situations. Legally, being an American citizen I don't think I can unless they are a convicted criminal and the sell is part of their punishment or their punishment. I've seen enough reports on modern slavery to know that all those organizations that buy back people in other nations often simply add more potential wealth to the original sellers (who often sell the slave again) and to the traders/owner who can replace them. I fear the only honest way to deal would be to accept said slave, free them legally and not return them to those who originally sold them. Of course how then does the former slave live?

I’m assuming that you are talking about Master/Slave relationships and yes it’s still going on. Below is a link to a slave registry were you can get a registration number for your slave. I hope this helps you out.

Just as a point of curiosity, I was under the impression that slavery was formally illegal everywhere in the world, although tacitly accepted in some places. Do you really know of countries where slavery is explicitly legal? If so, which ones? I might have to consider relocating...

Incidentally, I agree with you completely about the complexities that would arise if a member of a slave-holding society moved to a country where slavery was illegal, and brought the human chattels along. However, I think I would want local laws to take precedence, just on the principle of doing as the Romans do (well, the Romans did have slaves, but you know what I mean!).

Damn, if all this were only true, Doms would have a way to get rid of Frenzy the Slave. Just sell her. Buyer tries to negotiate, just ask him how much he has. If he is really short, tell him he can pay you monthly. If he can't do that, you help him jump start his car and tell him to get back with you later, much later.

You do know that site is not about "real" slavery right? It is where someone who identifies as a slave (versus as a sub) can "register" and obtain a number, which they then can have put on jewelry (like "dog tags"), or on a tattoo, or whatever. Further, another person cannot register you, the "slave" must do it themself.

I'm not really seeing it being that much different than any other fantasy or role-playing genre that "registers" names or numbers... there are several medieval re-enactment groups that come to mind that do the same sort of thing.

Many of us have it good and can joke about the subject while thinking it's not real.  What goes on in consensual relationships is no one else's business.  Unfortunately, there are many women in the world that are deprived of the 'consensual' process.  There are many articles regarding women being taken from former Soviet nations and enslaved in the West.

I have to wonder though, are men enslaved as well in this fashion.

It's good to enjoy whatever lifestyle you desire, as long as others aren't harmed by it.

Yes!! At any flea market, cafe's sometimes they come and offer them to you.. If anyone comes close trying to sell you something with a funny accent be sure that slaves are on the list too. This happens allot in countries with a high poverty rate and high unemployment At a bargain price once you strike a deal one will have as many available at no time.. They are constantly shipped around the world in any way that can be made available. i know that this practice is common in eastern European countries and break up republics where people are looking to find there way into other countries

You live in the US and you don't know that this is illegal?

Sadly, the slave trade is real...but's it a REAL slave trade, not the Marketplace (lifestyle sale). As far as lifestyle trade, I know of slaves who have been "sold" or made offers for...one for the price of a bus ticket and the other I believe was several hundred thousand dollars in the late 70s or early 80s. You can read about the latter one when reading Viola Johnson's personal journal called "To Love, To Obey, To Serve". However, I haven't heard of a lifestyle trade...the only auctions I know of are fundraising events.

Seriously, it goes on a lot in the U.S. in the form of prostitutes being bought and sold my pimps. Sure it is "voluntary" in a way, but in other ways that many of us understand, it is not anymore the girl's ability to say no to her sale than it is for her to keep money from her pimp.

There were some in the latest Target sale circular.....as I recall....they were $199.99 for breast sizes to 36C, and $219.99 for D-cups...

So anything under a 36C was recalled as below standard or put on the reject table ... and anything over D-cup was a speacial under table order lol. ... just want some clarification on what happened to the other sizes before I call in the Subbie Restance Front to liberate the underdogs
