pahunkboy -> I lost my cell phone! (2/29/2008 6:00:41 AM)

well 2 of them. i looked all over. i called the laundry mat.  both are prepaid.  with   70,140$ on it. i tried calling the phone.

--i recall using it to type in data from a bill board ad..

no contact info in it  not even "mom".    i read not to do that as a fake text could be sent. tho thats not why i just naturally know moms number.

any ideas ??.

MichiganHeadmast -> RE: I lost my cell phone! (2/29/2008 6:23:25 AM)

Send yourself a text:  "Hey, handsome, meet me at such-and-such motel, room such-and-such, 9 pm."

When the perp shows up, nab him and get your phone back.

Eat the loss and buy a new one.  As someone who constantly loses things - make a habit of putting the phone exactly where it belongs each time.  I always have it in my pocket or plugged into one outlet.  Otherwise, it's gone.  Habit is the only thing that prevents me from running through the house like mad trying to find my keys .... wallet .... phone ...  etc.

lol.  I actually bought something at Brookstone to help me with lost objects.  It came with a receiver and 4 colored thingees (sorry for the technical term!  lol)  Two of the thingees attach to keychains and two of them had double-sided tape on it to stick to things like a remote or cell phone.  If you lose an object you can hit the base button, say, the blue one, and the blue thingee will beep within a 50 foot radius or so.  So when I toss my phone on my bed under some laundry and then the battery dies, I can still find it.  $50 or so.  Worth every penny.  lol

pahunkboy -> RE: I lost my cell phone! (2/29/2008 7:15:14 AM)

the unit is new. $50. i was  thinking maybe ill switch to verizzen if it is lost for good.  mom has it- and we cant talk free per ATT.  also i dont recommend locking into to any teck contract.  90 days max.  FCC just leased out new spectrum... google bought it.  big changes are comming.

a computer is a tv, which is a phone, a phone is a computer which is a tv... they are all morphing. why anyone would buy GPS is silly. it all will ahve it.

wanna buy an 8 track tape player?

Bound2One -> RE: I lost my cell phone! (2/29/2008 3:07:11 PM)

I'll trade you an 8-track for my Betamax!

Now have you tried looking in the last place you saw it? Why do people always give that crappy advice I dunno.[8|]

Ask the government, they know exactly where your phone is.[8|]x10^4

popeye1250 -> RE: I lost my cell phone! (2/29/2008 4:21:52 PM)

PaHunk, you did yourself a favor.
I had one of those portable phones one time.
I was driving down a mountain road in New Hampshire and tried to use it and had to put my reading glasses on to see the buttons.
I almost ran off the road!
I said out loud; "Man, these fuckers are dangerous!"
I threw it out the window into the woods and haven't had one since!
I do like to fuck with people who use them in a store though.
"What did you call me?"
"Oh! No, not you I'm on the phone!"
"Yes you did, I heard you you sumbitch, you called me a "can of peas" you sick fuck."

mnottertail -> RE: I lost my cell phone! (2/29/2008 4:37:11 PM)

Two and only two possibilities present themselves, pahunkie....

1.  they are in the couch....

or the more probable...

2.  the dog has them hooked up to a remote egg and is masturbating your parakeet with them.  Lays one down, in front of the cage, so the parakeet thinks it's safe. and goes in the kitchen and dials the other one, just to fuck with him.

BBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

I did the pre-paid thing for awhile.  It really is a rip-off if you use them a lot.  I dropped my land line when I finally got a regular cell subscription.  I refused to get one until 2005.  But, I love my phone now.  Cell phone numbers are off limits to telemarketers.  I spend the majority of my time away from home, so I don't need a land line.  My bill each month is about the same as my landline.  I can choose who I talk to, and when I talk to them.  Plus, the options on cell phone service outweigh landlines so much.  I am a hard one to accept change, but cell phones are one of the exceptions.

mnottertail -> RE: I lost my cell phone! (2/29/2008 4:59:54 PM)

NO, NO, NO...cell phones are not off limits to telemarketers.  In fact it is against the law to identify cell phones.  I worked for the dreaded NYNEX (subsequently-----yadda yadda yadda at 111 Main Street in White Plains, New York and we wanted to put the cell phones in certain NXXs (that is Local office code--where the NANP = (NPA) NXX-XXXX) LOLOLOL, and the FCC said no fucking way, it is against privacy law and the portability law then coming into existance.

But there is no certain way to identify a cell phone number so no list can be had.  (I also know a great deal about telemarketing)
anyhow, portability is uncertain as are cell numbers.

Hunk, I find myself wanting to hug you....a lot! XXX

SL4V3M4YB3 -> RE: I lost my cell phone! (2/29/2008 5:17:37 PM)

You can have my mobile phone I don't want it. The awful truth is your brain is the pale unroasted chicken in a non rotating microwave unless you turn your head a lot. Having said that which I just said they tried to boil an egg with loads of phones once, they failed.[8|]

sub4hire -> RE: I lost my cell phone! (2/29/2008 6:44:51 PM)

I thought you had dumped all cells?  A prepaid is still a cell

Gwynvyd -> RE: I lost my cell phone! (2/29/2008 7:01:47 PM)

Sorry to hear about your cell phone hun....

I would freak. My cell phone is like an embilical cord to me. I try to always keep it in the same place. Side pocket of my purse, or on my cell phone stand thingie on my night stand. ( unless I am listening to music on it.. then the little bugger in in my hands. I can't hear it well in my purse pocket that way. Unless the ear phones are in ) I do try to have some etiquette and stop talking when I am being rung up at the register at stores.. I hate that when people just totaly ignore the clerk.

huh, i think i'm a cavewoman...i've had a few cell phones,  but these days i can't bring myself to have one...i don't want to be that available i guess.

YourhandMyAss -> RE: I lost my cell phone! (2/29/2008 7:36:49 PM)

putting it in one place EVERYTIME, is great as long as you don't have the prob of loosing it when in use. Example, I am always loosing my books when I read them, I got a box ansd I kept all my librarie books in the box, and that was all good and fine, except when it came to misplacing them when I actually had them in use. And of course never taking them out of the box so they didn't get lost wasn't feasable, since it's silly to rent library books just to never read them.
