~Fast Reply~ Just a thought.... And please consider I feel the Senator McCain's positions concerning legalizing criminal workers, giving amnesty to their employers, and his campaign funding Bill disqualify him for consideration for my vote. The subject and point of this article is to reflect the lack of integrity of John McCain. Were the general population informed it should point to the integrity of the source. NEW YORK TIMES - Published: January 25, 2008 Primary Choices: John McCain quote:
We have strong disagreements with all the Republicans running for president. The leading candidates have no plan for getting American troops out of Iraq. They are too wedded to discredited economic theories and unwilling even now to break with the legacy of President Bush. We disagree with them strongly on what makes a good Supreme Court justice. Still, there is a choice to be made, and it is an easy one. Senator John McCain of Arizona is the only Republican who promises to end the George Bush style of governing from and on behalf of a small, angry fringe. With a record of working across the aisle to develop sound bipartisan legislation, he would offer a choice to a broader range of Americans than the rest of the Republican field. "This story was no exception. It was a long time in the works. It reached my desk late Tuesday afternoon. After a final edit and a routine check by our lawyers, we published it." Source: http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003713800 Edited to add, with emphasis, the New York Times response to the backlash criticism. Of course none of their media brethren pointed to the incongruity of the endorsement in the face of this story in the works; "a long time...". The era of print news is waning. Stories like this speed up its well deserved demise.
