My sub has been transferred via her company to another state, so I am once again searching. Any tips on things to watch out for when choosing a sub?

well if its subway..you have 5 choices of types of bread...figure that out first.
then you go look at the menu posted on them boards...and decide what you like.
then you have to decide if you want 6" or 12".  then you need to decide what toppings you want..... and finally what sauces you want.... then you gotta get out your money and pay.

i am sorry, i just reread  the title of this post.  Yes, you should leave a tip.  these submakers make next to nothing, and can go crazy when people change their minds in the middle, so do tip well, and tip often.

When  you squeeze them, they should be firm yet give slightly under the pressure of your grip.

My best idea yet: Go to bdsm themed clubs, events and work it from there. As someone said in a previous post, you choose eachother, so keep that in mind. My problem isnt finding someone in the lifestyle, but finding one that isnt taken yet :\ The most important thing is not to rush it. Go window shopping and make a lot of friends. Eventually you will know what and who you want, and if they want you.

Just look for what interests you, dont settle for less. Look for likes kink and vanilla so that you get along inside as well as outside of the bedroom. Just look for somone you click with, get to know them. My sub found me he seemed really sweet and we started talking about all the things we liked to do. We clicked within the first talk it was amazing and the best decision.

Really, you are not choosing the sub, the sub is choosing you. You cant club her over the head and drag her home until she gives the green light. So remember to mind your p's and your q's.

I choose you, PikaDom! [:D]

<snortlaughcough> at reading some of these posts.

To the OP  - from reading your journal. Take a deep breath. And re'eval what you offer to someone. It looks like barely a month went by from when you first got involved and now shes transferring. Little fishy. Most companies (not all) tend to have given warning about the need for relocation/transfer, so makes me wonder if she knew all along. Or if the motives were innocent, why look again sooooo quickly?

Take your time, enjoy the time left with your current girl. Why does there need to be one immediatly?

(tries to take own advice. Really will try. <weg>)

BeachMystress -> RE: Tips on Choosing a sub? (2/29/2008 2:29:23 PM)

There is a sign advertising Hot subs about two blocks away from one of our local dungeons. I always wonder if I should pick up another one or two when we pass it, just to give poor toy a break!

OP, you need to figure out what YOU want in a sub, then look for a woman who has those qualities. Do you want her to be able to think for herself? Do you want her to obey without thinking? Do you want her to have specific kinks? Do you want her to be loyal? These are things specific to you. Personally, I found my submissive husband at the Grand Opening for a dungeon. I observed his behavior, was impressed and then approached him.

If you kick the dogfuck outta them on the first meet, just to let them know you aint out here fucking around, and they go to the cops instead of starting a Help!!!!!!!!!!! am I the only one thread here at CM.......kick the fuckers to the curb, posthaste.

You really don't need that kinda heartache, nobody should have to put up with that kinda shit.

Paulsgirl -> RE: Tips on Choosing a sub? (2/29/2008 4:58:21 PM)

for all self-dismissing US subs and a quick get away.....
1. Tell Him you are being transferred outta state
2. Move in with the Dom round the block
most of us only look stoopid
for all self-dismissing UK subs and a quick get away.....
1. Tell Him you are being moved to another county
2. Move in with the Dom next door
most of us only look stupid

To any D types who woke up and found something missing: spot the difference?
