Pffffft. Iowa cities, which everyone knows. No one expects it and we're bred to be kind, we can't help it. Scenario: as a neighbor, we hear the "whip" of the lash and a subsequent scream; we assume it's the TV or a vigorous game of "Red Rover Red Rover." Scenario: we see a sub on a leash, being walked through town; we assume it's etiquette training and we're very encouraging. Scenario: two women nuzzling and holding hands in the diner; we assume they've been BFFs since playing on their H.S. softball team together. And we'd be right.
Is this heaven? No, it's Iowa.
