the question: Has anyone ever heard of "mayday" being used as a safeword meant for general intervention from those who might not be involved with the scene?

No.

We usually say "Code Blue!" and then set off the siren.

The standard, if there is one, is green=good or yes, yes, yes! Yellow=change it up or down, do a check, Red=MAYDAY! Or, stop now.

Welcome ya dirty unvirgin.

Ok... the stoplight systems does work.  But, I still giggle at one subbie that started screaming "Pink, Pink" at the top of her lungs.

(I've always found that a set of six M80's set in parallel to a mans nuts will send a very strong signal to the political party in power).

As far as Mayday, i have never heard that being used in any club or party where i have been.  Most of the clubs around here use Red or simply Safeword

Mayday is only used in the movies.  In all my years of sailing winds blowing 70 waves taller than your mast,  ppl getting tossed overboard, sailingboats broaching<mast in the water> I have never heard mayday.  What I have heard is pan pan pan give your location on the first radio tranmission.  Pan 3 times means your in some serious shit come save my ass on channel 16 which the coast guard moniters.  Anymore though a EPRIB is required on larger boats that send a signal to a sat.  So next time scream EPRIB and the coasties will show up.  Hell they can even drop you a lift raft.

Okay mental image...me naked on the cross, "EPRIB" I shout, and suddenly out of nowhere this gigantic bright yellow inflatable raft falls at my feet, and starts to expand...finally you can't see me anymore cause I am being suffocated by it.

Gee thanks a lot!

LOL yea that was the whole idea the visual is hilarious.  You didn't mention the chopper hovering overhead with the spotlight shinning through the window and the vid camara captureing the moment forever.  With a couple forgmen rapelling ala blues brother style... crashing through the window saying can we help you maam.

You might say PanPan is a bit like Red, whereas MayDay is that ghastly stage beyond. And it is used at sea - part of the time by ships in deep shit, often by sailors whose lives, frankly, are not at risk but who are totally scared. So the parallels for scening work well.

But I like the EPIRB idea. Give the sub an electronic device to hold and if she drops it all hell breaks loose and the cavalry arrives. Unfortunately she might just be tired or clumsy (which is what happens at times at sea with EPIRBs - or sometimes when the sailor is packing for a voyage and drops the thing and the emergency services see a call for a disaster in a loft in Birmingham). On reflection this needs more work.

How many of you actually GO to play parties?  It is a fabulous solution to a non existant problem.

The amount of times I have seen someone go too far and NOT notice is ONCE and the submissive didn't even know it (bondage was too tight and her hands were deep purple.  You say RED at a Pleasurbound, Society of Janus, Journey, SinfulCat, Edges, Castlebar, Odeyssey, anywhere in California and the DMs will get an instant hard on and come rescue you.
