It always brings a smile to my face when I make a comment that could have a double meaning and you see the smile on the face of someone that picked up on that double meaning.  [:)]

I am fairly open with people at work.  Of course, now when people ask questions I just tell them, "You know questions come with answers, are you sure you want to ask that question?"

my daughter was just 18, left her glow in the dark bondage kit on the foot of her bed...I walked in her room and she looked at it and looked at me all uncomfortable--to which I responded 'What, you think you were conceived on a bed of rose petals?? I believe it involved a leash and someone yelling "Bark like a dog bitch"....no more awkwardness after that conversation

I don't have a comment on the thread but this:

"Dominance is the ability to create a hunger in someone that's so strong they will do anything, anytime, anywhere just to please you."

is outstanding.

Well, at My previous abode I ran a choir for 7 years and one of the official titles for such is "Choir Mistress"! While we always had a lot of fun, I was a bit of a stickler for details (heck, we didn't win eisteddfods by chance!) and so they used to joke about how strict I was, "She'll bring her whip next week!" Most of them never knew I had one at home ... a few of My close friends, sister and My s-hub at the time did of course and used to exchange a sneaky grin or wink. Even funnier when 2 of the leading lights of the local bdsm community joined the choir, they both loved singing. Grins would be exchanged when we sang one song that had the line "No one ties us down and no one ever will!", and the sub lady's interesting neck attire always drew some comments! And of course, when I asked s-hub to do something and he said "Yes Ma'am!" they all thought he was taking the mickey (aka piss-taking) ... I guess a non-Oz translation would be "being a smart arse!" when he was actually (for once!) being a good subbie! I enjoy that sort of fun too, though not really using it as a put down, more an inside joke.

Had to laugh a lot at the "bark like a dog bitch" story though!

a majority of my humor is based on saying the last thing you would expect me to say. it usually works great as a catch you off guard type joke.
sometimes ladies do the girly slap/push me in the arm.  and I respond "oh kinky. do it again"

or anytime a friend or coworker threatens to hit or smack me I quickly and smoothly respond with a flirty "PROMISE? "

In the right company I'll make comments that are gentle and humorous enough to be easily moved aside, but are a way of letting the other person know "If you really are curious and want to talk more, please do so."

I'm with you, LA.  In fact because of this and because I'm so open, I've taught many a vanilla kinkster how to play safely.  They know from my jokes and my attitude - if it makes you happy, go for it - that they can ask me anything.

I knew I'd really made it when my nephew came to me and said, "Can you tell me how to do anal sex?  My grilfriend wants me to do it.. and um... that's where she shits from!  I don't want shit on my dick."  And I told him... Ahh ain't life grand?
