I have a Palm Treo 750.  I really like it.  Has Internet, email, camera, cam corder and holds my contacts and calendar.

I would recommend buying whatever you choose at Amazon.  Their prices are almost impossible to beat.  If you keep the same carrier, consider moving the number to your home number for a couple of weeks and then starting new service again.  Seems to be the only way to beat them at their games.

Yeah but the only other phone with the extended battery that my carrier had was $1200 and I would have a hard time writing that off on my taxes.

It's kinda cute.. my dom just today upgraded from his analog cell phone. All he kept saying was 'It's so small!'.He only upgraded from analog because it no longer worked and couldn't be fixed anymore.

I'm probably going to have to get a cellphone soon myself. I feel kind of weird for not having one. My friend has one she was supposed to give me, but if not I was just going to look for a cheap one.

I love the Iphone, a customer had one on him and let me play with the UI for about 20 minutes.
My issues is that practically all my firends and family use Verizons and Iphones are AT&T only.

Ah well, maybe I can get a unlocked one.

Unlocked one won't help you, AT&T uses a GSM network (as does T-Mobile) while Verizon (Sprint and Alltel also) use CDMA. You would need new hardware in the IPhone itself in order to use it.

I've had good luck with the basic models of LG phones and Audiovox.  Personally I loathe Nokia phones....they just aren't user friendly to me or suitable to tuck into a pants pocket and the sound quality sucks.

Avoid any phone that is the latest, greatest whatever.  Usually they have too many useless functions and lend themselves to some interesting mishaps lol.  Keep it simple is my motto.
