More muscles you have more calroies you burn, but if you just want to loose weight your best bet is running or biking constant activity for more then 20 minutes.
Try putting something heavy in both of your arms stech them out so they for 90 degree angle to your body and do lots of sit up's while holding your arms out. Once your arms get tired hold them at the same angle in front of you keep doing the sit ups.

thats my problem.. muscles..i cant create muscles.  i have a particular health issue that causes this problem.  (no not my heart condition..another issue)

Most people stop 'creating' muscles early in life... what we think of as building muscle is actually thickening existing fibers.

Even with a condition that prevents muscular hypertrophy, one can benefit from weight bearing exercises which also strengthen connective tissue and help with bone density.

Sounds like best bet for static variety, is going to be core body exercises, such as those I already linked.

Pilates Exercise and Weight Loss for Dummies. I eagerly awaited its arrival from Amazon and quickly became knackered as I fought its release from the packaging. I fell asleep during the intro and have yet to feel motivated enough to try watching it again.

I do exercise though, plenty of walking (for someone of my body habitat two miles plus 60 large stone steps is no mean feat) and I could crush walnuts between my thighs. I practice my kegels every day, also clenching my buttocks.

i'm starting to take up belly dancing (any dancing is good, burlesque is another interesting one).
Swimming, Volleyball (builds endurance, not much running)
Going on the swings actually are good for the legs
Forearms pushups (get on your stomach and put your forearm flat on the floor, the lift and hold for 5 seconds, slowly go back down, repeat, as you get used to it you can wait longer)
Hope something was helpful...

Hi Prized. I love belly dancing, have a sexy Turkish friend I've known for over 20 years now and she taught me how. It's soemthing I'd forgotten about, so thanks for the reminder and the recommendations for those other exercises. Swimming is great, it's something else I need to start again. I've made a good start with nutrition though, cutting out all the rubbish from my diet, so now need to get into a daily regime of exercise.

i'm horrible on nutrition, i just can't handle it, if i want a salad then yay, if i want a big thing of pasta...well double yay!
But my friend does belly dancing and my school offers it now and i just feel in love with it because you feel so good mentally and physically when it's done.

Cutting out all unnatural sugars and strictly limiting carbs is the key for me, although do allow myself the occasional treats. And let's be honest, belly dancing is so darn sexy! I have one of those Swiss balls I use and also get that 'feel good' factor when doing my figure eights on it.
