This is Darcy I personally don't think there would be anything to gain from a separate GLBT forum (or any combinations thereof). If anything, as has been noted, it would restrict thoughts and discussions to a small group of people, when in reality I believe that the more opinions and points of view on a problem/observation/question, the better. I think that it is useful to have the current forums, as the whole ethos of the BDSM community (agh, that word ) revolves around the Master/Mistress/Switch/Submissive/Slave dynamics, irrespective of gender or sexuality. I personally don't know the sexual orientation of, to be honest, most of the posters on here, but it makes no difference. If you have a valid point or something interesting to say then I'm going to be interested in you as a person, not how and who you choose to make whoopee with. I do understand the problems and hassles that society presents GLBT people with, as I have friends in each of these categories, but they're my friends because I like hanging out with them or talking to them, not because they're GLBT or whatever. The danger of having a separate forum is that there is further segregation, and thus isolation. There's no reason why any of the issues that arise as a GLBT individual cannot be raised in forums as the 'straight' issues are. You may even get useful input from a 'straight' responder that may have been lost if the issue was confined to a dedicated GLBT forum. Just my 1.05 pence.
