Without agreeing or disagreeing with any of the points raised, would you all say the same if instead of LGBT, another minority asked the same question? I always find that a useful litmus test.

Nope - doesn't matter to me at all - years ago, there wasn't a gorean forum or a switch one(if I remember rightly) - I do not see a point to segregation at all myself - seeing as every orientation posts in every forum anyway.  The only useful thing I see it makes the posts more spread out and that makes it easier for some people.  But this isn't the first time seperation has been suggested.  Whether gay, dominia - even seperating the slave/submissives.  End of the day, the answers are the same regardless of gender or orientation and down to individuals.

Seeing all the different forum sections on here is nice but it would be equally nice to see a section on the forum for Gays/Lesbians. Most of the sections here, while open to all are mostly geared towards straight people or bisexual people so it would be nice to have one lil section for those who identify with the Gay or Lesbian title. Just my thoughts thats all....thought id share

I think it'd be fun. I'd haunt it.

My reply would still remain the same. We don't need anymore segregation of the masses, based on color, gender, gender identity, ethnic origin, etc. Cripes.

My earlier post already answers your question.

so you want to segregate a kinkster by sexual orientation.  then what's next, by race, gender, nationality, country region, city, etc etc?  or how about further segregating the CM population by skin tone, eye/hair color or income/employment?

really - do we really need another forum geared for the gblt? i think not.

Thank you for this.. yes the answers are going to be the same exactly... and people are going to go in and out of the forum.. no issues.. the more the merrier!
But for the things effecting *only or mainly* GLBT people and thier families and friends.... it would be lovely to have a section.

If you are not in that grouping it is hard to understand why any of us would feel the urge to have such a section.. I understand that.. It is not because we want to disinclude any one.. or because we want our own corner of the playground.. and there we will stay. It is because in this day and age unfortuantely there is just so much bloody crap that happens out there simply because we are GLBT folk.. and we do have a bit of a different spin on parts of the lifestyle. It keeps things interesting I think. I love hearing advice, and ya'll know I give it out sometimes as well. Just as the Masters do not stay regulated to the Master board or any body else to thiers ( thank heavens! how boring would that be!) neither would we..

Just to have a wee section where we can unload would be nice is all.. it is not ment as a slight or to hurt any one.. just a nice spot to come and bitch and share on the particular issues of being GLBT and in the lifestyle. I have a lot of friends on here.. gay, straight, bi, tri, buymesomethingandIwillbesexual, transgender, oh my gods you have sex with what?'s... I would like to share my stories and issues with them.. as would a lot of us.. in an easier format then trying to hunt and peck everything with a GLBT hint so I be sure I read it all. This place has a bloody lot of threads.. I dont have the kind of time to read it all. But to me... those types of threads would be important. being in one easy to locate place ~ easier to read and write. Just like for switches.. if they had postings all about it would be hard to chase them all down. could it be done.. sure.. but you would miss a lot.

If Mistress, and subs do it, why cant be do it, why cant we have a go? *sung in the lets fall in love tune*

Hi Gwyn

I do understand why you or others might want different sections - but I don't believe they help the causes.
I'm a woman - I am in a minority already.  I am also British and on CM that is a minority.  I also have children - yet another minority.  I have dyslexia.  I have synaesthesia.  All of these could have seperate sections couldn't they?  So where does it stop?

My words indicated that the answers will always be the same, regardless of orientation, dependant on the individual.  I don't know if you read that with the intention that it was given and understood what I meant.

I don't really feel it's beneficial to have all seperate forums.  Because it creates just the them and us that you are advocating.  I am very much of the mind that no one 'should' have seperate forums because it just perpetuates the cycle - but everyone 'should' be treated equally.

But the specific question was (and not the OP but RLs) would it matter who it was - my answer was no.  And it still is.

Personally, I think I gain much more by not having an artificial segregation.  I would miss the opportunity to learn what people from a variety of backgrounds, and with a diversity (hate that word) of preferences.  I hadn't really thought of these boards as being "straight-oriented" in any sense.

I also wish people would, in general, stop looking to line up under little headings marked "gay, straight, black, white, etc.).  Don't want to stop anyone from launching a gay forum, but wouldn't you rather just .... not be defined by that?

If you want me, I'll be in the kinky people's room.

... oh.... my... god...  It's an entire HOUSE!!!

would also safe check any gay members from adpting a reverse prejudice towards our hetero counterparts.

Thank you SO much for that.   Fag-hag and all that.  It sucks just as bad when all one is doing is "being."  AND, thought they might be in a safe, understanding environment.  Away from the hetero sharks and able to just "relax."
