As bizarre as it sounds, it's not surprising. The whole whole royalties payment system is byzantine, but you have to figure that songwriters and musicians have to get some kind of payment for their work. Laws affecting satellite and internet radio are due to be revised sometime in March, and a number of internet radio stations are predicting they may shut down then because they can't afford to make royalties payments. It's sad, because I 've grown quite accustomed to Internet radio, where I can find obscure programs like 1940's big band tunes to sailor's chanties! I'd hate3 to see it go away. Chances are there's goign to be some kind of major shakeup in the next year or so.
