Status: offline 		SAN DIEGO - Rock 'n' roll pioneer Ike Turner's death last month at age 76 was caused by a cocaine overdose, the San Diego County Medical Examiner's office said Wednesday.

"We are listing that he abused cocaine, and that's what resulted in the cocaine toxicity," said Paul Parker, chief investigator at the medical examiner's office.

The medical examiner's office also listed hypertensive cardiovascular disease and pulmonary emphysema as "significant and contributing factors" to Turner's death, Parker said.

('cause I didn't assume this...I assumed it was a natural death based on clean living).

Because he never gave up. Stars are suppose to die young so they may be remembered as being hot, young, and talented forever. It took an extra 50 years for the drugs to do him in but he'd be damned if he got any older.

Maybe he was just wanting a taste of his good ole past.

Status: offline 		it wasn't an overdose; it was the fact that all the drugs he'd done all his life finally wore off!  he would have been dead a long time ago but the body was so wired it couldn't stop.  the only reason they found coke was that he hadn't burned thru all of that yet, just everything else!
