ORIGINAL: CuriousLord What's interesting is that, should your friend not have had any of these things up, and just clothed pictures on MySpace or so, they could've still screwed her over. For computers users of that level, photo shopping clothed pictures to BDSM gear and putting up a website, apparently in her name, on a free server with such things (probably stealing the code and text from another dommantrix site for authencity and to save time) would've been simple enough. Or, really, she could've been innocent and a determined hacker could've still done the same without a great deal of effort more. (Maybe an hour or two, mostly for touching up the photoshop convincingly and signing up for the free account). While irrelevant to your point, I'm afraid curiousity does compel one towards the subject you've so considerately tried to sidestep; I wonder what is was she did to anger these fellows so? Granted, many hackers have short fuses and this was basically a form of a cyber rape, but she must've done something rather silly beyond just posting personal information online to draw such concerted effort from them. I agree, she could have tried to pass off the whole thing to her employer as some sort of sick joke; but when it comes to certain professions, we all know that the appearance of impropriety is far more important than actual impropriety. Given the amount of information about her in her site, I find it unlikely that her employers would be likely to buy it. My understanding was that one of the hackers came across a clip of her on Youtube. A clip of one of her postings here on the forums was offered as 'proof' of her vanity, meaning it had to have been someone who was familiar with collarme in the first place. The hacker in question states in his site: "While some may question the morality of many raids, THIS one had a solid foundation. Read, from XXXXX's own site" (her rates for chat, phone, and cam, follow) "No further explanation is deemed necessary, except for this display of narcissism" (link to one of her CM posts where she says she loves her body.) Point is, that the assumption that she must have 'done something' to deserve street level photos of her apartment, harassing phone calls, being reported to the IRS, and being outed to her employer simply doesn't hold water for me. This guy was clearly one malicious SOB, posting the make and model of her car, hacking into her site and email, and posting in her LJ that she had given men AIDS. Trust me, nobody deserves this.
