JohnS, 400 is too much. Take it from a straight White Man who is obviously not lusting after you. Every day, you are beating on your body, and payback time will come. Just ask my Father, he is in the 300s and now 69 and I know he wishes he never put that weight on. So I say lose it, not for anyone else, for yourself. Add to that you are tall, and tall people have more heart problems on average. I did not check your profile, but if you are pushing 40 you are at a turning point, if you want to be. Right now you can still lose it, when you are 69 you will not be able to. You will find it impossible to exercise, and your eating habits will be so firmly ingrained in your mind that you will not be able to change much. I don't think it is all that serious at your height even if you weighed 300. It is above the optimal but not all that bad. On the other hand 400 is a real and present danger to your well being. If you don't do something you will be a toothless grey haired old Man who gets winded walking from the car to the front door on his remaining three toes. Take my word for it. If yo do want to lose weight it is a state of mind. I have lost a bit, and I am hell bent on not putting it back on. I am not svelte, I am 5'11" about 210. Got good size bones and some muscle so it is not all that bad. I feel so much better now than I did when I weighed more. It is easier to move around, everything. One thing about losing weight, people who lose weight have very strong legs. You work them out hard every time you walk. Throw off a hundred pounds and you'll feel like you can almost fly. When I was a kid, before I got fat, I had this little trick. Walking along, this is before I ever drove a car, I had a way of propelling myself forward jumping basically. By pushing off with the back foot I could actually "fly" in a way, like a stride and a half or so. A few years ago, I was quite pleased to find out that I can again do this. It is not anything really special, and the technique is quite simple. And it doesn't really make you faster or save energy. It's just pretty cool. More later. Have a salad. Really, I have no intention of insulting fat people, far from it. I have that battle myself. But for your health, and thinking of your own future, slim down. T
