DiurnalVampire -> Photo ideas? (12/28/2007 10:51:33 AM)

In an attempt to break myself out of the winder slump I have hit, I am wondering if anyone could help me out.
My one truly major passion is my photography (hobbywise, obviously). It is one of my greatest enjoyments and as of late I have been too busy and too exhausted to get into taking pictures. Fox hasnt been feeling neglected, per say, but he has noticed the change in my enthusiasm too. I am hoping that a shot in the arm with some ideas might help get me out of the holiday blahs.
So, I'll put this on the table.
Does anyone have any ideas for pictures? Lifestyle, vanilla, festish (limited to what I have access to... no latex or things like that), bondage... Fox is willing as long as its nothing that we cant manage.
And I was told to tell Laurell there will be a dancing picture somewhere in there.
We will make an effort to do all the pictures we can manage.
Anyone who wants more info on what we have handy, I can provide that.

Thanks for any ideas ahead of time.  I am really hoping to kick this mood, and I think this might help.
DV

Have you done themes for the holidays during the year?  Maybe a set using the 7 Mortal Sins?

faerytattoodgirl -> RE: Photo ideas? (12/28/2007 11:12:43 AM)

I want to do a goth photo session but around here photographers want thousands of $$$$.  so its not happening anytime soon...

Work on some outdoor photos, the daylight will help alot with the winter blahs, footprints in the frosted grass or snow, an hanging icicle with Fox touching it with his tongue wearing a training collar    as profile shot(could be quite erotic looking,  try converting to black and whites,  a pony play picture only real prop needed is a crop maybe gag bit with straps attached for reins if you camera has a timer makes it easy for you to get into the photo astride.

A simple nude tied with hands above to a tree  in black and white

How about planning a day trip/picnic sorta thing to a nearby fort or park?  Gets the mindset going that "this is what we're going to do", makes for some great candid shots, outdoor shots, tie him to a cannon, string him up in the stable.   I understand being in a funk.  Sometimes it takes just a spark to get it all going again.  Sometimes it takes a raging conflagration.  Hugs to ya.

Oooh, we've done this twice and it -did- turn out some amazing  pictures...  The ones on the cannon being some of my favorites.

Sorry to hear your feeling a bit blah.  Im not a photographer by any means but the other night we took the dog for a walk and the moon was so beautiful we took quite a few pics and they look great.  Maybe a nice evening walk out and some cool night shots would be different and fun church yards at night with a cool moon are great for pics I reakon too[:)]

Personally I have always loved the look of dramatic lighting and ropes.  It's something that just never seems to get old, so of course with this I would suggest Japanese ropework, which can help your creativity behind the camera, and in front of it.  That, of course, is if you have a studio kit.

I too have a passion for photography, and I know how the winter can be.  It's because of this my family decided to chip in and buy me a studio lighting kit for Christmas, and playing with all the different settings has proven to be a blast.  If you don't already have one, I'd suggest looking in to a studio kit.  It'd be a whole new world of fun.

RumpusParable -> RE: Photo ideas? (12/28/2007 1:34:04 PM)

Perhaps some nice vanilla-style landscape photos of places somewhat secluded nearby... but in teh background or just off to the side or otherwise snuck into the shot Fox bound or in some overtly BDSM clothing or such in the scene.  Sort of a "beautiful sunny day on the meadow... wait, behind that bush/in that tree is that a guy wrapped in saran wrap with a ballgag in??  How did he get up there like that??"

I veer a little towards the silly.

Find an amateur photography forum. There's thousands of fairly decent amateur digital SLR photographers out there, many of whom would love to do a goth shoot on a Time for Prints basis. There might even be quite a few here on CollarMe.

Unless of course you really need pro-quality, but pro-quality costs pro-quality.

Me being one of them, but I can only travel in the Summer or Winter months.  Digital prints are free, as are my services so long as you provide the travel expenses and a place for me to stay while I'm there.

Sorry for the mindless pitch, shutting up now ^-^;;

Me being one too (running an amateur bondage/photography website), but I'm not rich enough for crossing the ocean on a Time for Prints basis [8D]

jakeskajira -> RE: Photo ideas? (12/28/2007 2:23:06 PM)

My Master takes all of my photo's since he no longer allows me to model for others, but he's experienced, I would also love idea's for photography sessions... Standing in front of a wall gets sort of generic and boring after a while LOL

SL4V3M4YB3 -> RE: Photo ideas? (12/28/2007 2:23:16 PM)

Have you noticed there are some places in the world that you can point a camera in any direction and take an amazing picture? When I was 11 I had this really cheap camera but I was on a school trip to Scotland and I took some of the most amazing pictures I have ever taken. Even now nothing I do compares to those photos I lost, maybe I’m remembering them in a way that was unrealistic.

One was of some brilliant white swan like bird on a blue loch with vivid green mountains beyond. To use the old saying: I could use a thousand words to describe that one picture I keep in my head but it wouldn’t be nearly enough.

Yay!  A dancing fox picture series would be cool!  I'm psyched!

Why not celebrate your anniversary with a series of pics about you as a couple and the things that you have in common, are important to you, are fun to you, brought you together, even things you argue/disagree about,  etc.

erebus -> RE: Photo ideas? (12/28/2007 3:57:43 PM)

I suspect the blahs might be due to short days and less sunlight, plus we all have a tendency to become sloths during the winter.  And, obviously, the solstice is just past, so the nights are long, the temps are cool, and we tend to hibernate.

I'd suggest a day outside to get some light in your eyes/body, and a day of good activity.  Exercise might be exactly what you need as well.

MidMichCowboy -> RE: Photo ideas? (12/28/2007 4:18:07 PM)

I totally understand winter blahs. As soon as my youngest get to college (11 short years) I'm moving south. :)
Some ideas I always like are using darkness and them spotlight a portion of the body.
Just hands and wrists with cuffs.
Legs shackled.
A gag in a mouth .. showing just the neck and lower portion of the face.
An ass.
Well you get the idea.. They work best as black and white or black and white with just one item in color. (Photo shop or paint shop pro are great for those ideas. I like to show the texture of the skin and the contrast with the items included, such as rope, gags, or cuffs. Its nice to show a drop of sweat dripping down a neck, wrapped in rope. You have to experiment with the lighting and exposure.
Gee, now I want a model.

Aileen1968 -> RE: Photo ideas? (12/28/2007 4:20:45 PM)

Bodyscapes are always nice.  Close up enough so that the viewer isn't quite sure what they're looking at.

lovingpet -> RE: Photo ideas? (12/28/2007 4:36:28 PM)

Hit the color palette hard....Color helps the emotional balance during a time of so much grey and gloom.  Take some shots bursting with color and life!  It will shock your senses and perhaps scare away the winter blues (not that blue is a bad color) LOL!!!

Warm sunshiny wishes,
lovingpet

liketophoto -> RE: Photo ideas? (12/28/2007 4:47:57 PM)

I would suggest fire play. Use the self timer. Black and white is also great!

Respectfully, LTP
