I realize that it is only a matter of time before we have very life-like robots.
But damn it, I might not be here in 2050.

According to this article in live science, people will be able to have sex with robots in about
5 years though, 2012....hummm we shall see.

Forecast: Sex and Marriage with Robots by 2050 | LiveScience

All the more reason to support poly relationships.

No poly for me, I don't share well.
To each their own.
I rather have my own robot, than share a human being.

Sex with robots is, more or less, masturbation.  They're just going to be sex toys until psuedointelligence comes along.

One thing that continaully strikes me as obnixous, though.  Everyone seems to have it in their head this utterly silly notion that an intelligent robot will have human-like intelligence, perhaps a bit more or less (being somewhere between retarded to brilliant, by human terms).  What the hell makes anyone think that?  They may be inferior, mentally, for a year or two after invention while they're in their formative stages.  After that, it's likely that they'll far surpass us to the point that their actions will, by our feeble understandings, appear to be acts of chaos.  (You know, sort of like how those of you with pets probably wonder why you seem so obsessed with tapping your fingers against the keyboard, staring intently at it instead of doing something else.  They just can't understand your reasonings.)

It may seem like a skew rant, but I have reason.  My point is that, once "AI" is invented and has a year or two to mature- before a true human-robotic relationship would have a chance to even occur.. they'd see humans as mundane creatures.  Not to mention that they would, inniately, not have any foreseeable predisposition for sexual attraction in the first place (unless explicitly designed, but, even then...).

Or, bottom line being.. human/robotic marriages are a moot point.  There will be miniscule, transcient possiblities before such things are a historic issue.  (Likely for virtual scanners of future robots when studying their orgins, at the end of the human era.)

hehe............Open your mind to the dark side of tongue in cheek humor my friend.

The article is specifically making fun how the state of Massachussettes would act if robots developed sentient personalities.    It's a tongue in cheek shot at their acceptance of gay relationships.

Well, if they look this good and are "smart" it might not be so bad!

www.realdoll.com

I'd be 100 years old if I made 2050.

Heck popeye, you will probably be able to get a clone slave before a robot worth having sex with is available.  I can't imagine that is too far beyond possible.

Oh come on, they are state of the art, they will have a built in cleaning system,
sort of like a dishwasher.
Open up your mind, use your imagination.

hmm, use my imagination, I can do that, but can't help thinking about a hose pipe and flushing the thing out.

It still sounds yukky, basically a modern mechanised blow up doll.Give me human flesh any day, there is no substitute and fear the day there is!

Now Clone slaves would be nice!
I'd take a Janine Turner, a Jamie Lee Curtis and a Nora O'Donnel clone slave.

You know what you call a female clone?
A "clunt."

I think that if human cloning becomes readily available, the law would restrict making copies of third parties. But at least we could finally act upon the universal suggestion that someone go fuck themselves.

Not sure how we started talking about cloning.
The article was about robots, not clones.

I'll be 75.  I think a 75 year old man will look just as creepy at the sex robot store, as a 75 year old man at the sex toy store is now. *laughs*

Zen, the DMCA2 should take care of unlawful clones, but then you should be able to buy the DNA on the web.

Hubby was very upset when He heard some coffee stands are using robotic baristas.  He thinks the only reason to stop for a latte is to oogle the baristas.
