Hmm... So I guess it is OK that the government sets up a committee to monitor speech. Fine. After all, Media Matters, Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting, and Accuracy In Media all monitor "speech", so why not the government? Oh wait...the government has guns and "the force of law" behind it. That's why they can chase down and kill/arrest terrorists and the New York Times can only write about it. I'm all for the gov't being there to protect...that's why it is there, after all...providing for the common defense. And sure, it can monitor all day long. It is just when it starts to take action that we, as citizens, have to be concerned that the intent stays clear.
