Sometimes my profile makes me cringe, because it's more harsh and abrupt than I normally am - an unusually single-faceted. However, it does keep random spammers from PMing me, for the most part, so I have to admit it serves its purpose well!

I am generally not much of a profile reader,so I get to avoid the usual gut wrench that some of those profiles would provide... I do look at profiles when I am responding to an OP or to check out new pictures from CM regulars..:0)..Tempting

Oh, but I enjoy the sighs of disapointment whenever I tell a "No Limits" slave that there are certain things I just won't ever do to her or have her do! Oh wait, guess that makes me one Greedy Selish Bastard for having limits... can you imagine the rude awakening it is for a true slave girl, that wants to experience it all. LOL...

The ones that make me crazy are the ones from "slaves" who "don't do housework", will not "work outside of the home", will not "babysit your children". they also expect to be furnished with a car, insurance and an allowance while the Master foots the tuition! Talk about fantasy!!!

my own profile is pretty damned sparse. but that was done kind of deliberately. why? i figured a dominant would have to be pretty curious about who i am to message me and ask enough leading questions to see if i was what he wanted, and i could ask enough questions to find out the same thing. :)

Some of the total fantasy ones I think are actually written by males writing about what they prefer porn wise.

But once above 25, people should have a sufficient body of life experience to be able to transfer from one area of their life to another. If they choose not to, it isn't my responsibility to mother them. They'll pick impossibly low bids for repair jobs and complain when they are scammed. They'll buy a $20 watch on the street and bitch because it isn't a real Cartier. They have had plenty of time to grow up, if they choose not to, they will have the consequences.

I recently discovered the HIDE function, and I am atwitter with ecstasy! Srsly!

It's been a few years since I actually read profiles on this site, and I am wondering if I am getting a secret thrill from being appalled on such a regular basis. There must be some -philia for that. I am equally horrified by dom and sub profiles. Ladies, do you truly feel that you can submit to someone who displays his third grade education so defiantly? And the pictures! Maybe I'm a foolish softie, but I do worry for them. I've annoyed more than one new subbie boy by insisting he set up a safecall before I agree to meet him in a public place.

I met one a week or so ago and had to explain to him what a safecall was, and why he should set one up. I recently spoke to another newbie who started seeing and doing some light scening with a Domme only to be informed after a few dates that she expected a $100 "tribute" each time. He felt a little silly for being preyed upon, but fortunately bounced back He seems cute. I may take him out for coffee.

The ones that really frighten me are the ones who are willing to travel to distant places at the drop of a hat for a meeting. I understand that many of these are fantasy addicts who bail on actually doing it, but if any of them are legit they are setting themselves up for a whole world of risk.

I guess there's really two things going on here. The first is just those who let the fantasy run away with them but don't have a clear concept of what being a part of a D/s relationship is like in reality. If they are really serious about exploring this lifestyle, they'll learn pretty fast. They might have to learn the hard way, but they'll learn. And let's be honest: didn't most of us who now have more experience have to spend a little time acting like newbie idiots before we got it? If you are a softie like me, you can help these folk out by helping them navigate and teaching them about things like safety protocols and dungeon etiquette.

The second group worries me a lot more. A lot of them are people who do have some experience with D/s and have simply been single or unfulfilled in their kink for a very long time. They are metaphorically starving to death, needing desperately something they can't get. I've seen these people willingly put themselves in risky situations just to get their hunger fulfilled. Sometimes they don't even care if they are taken advantage of. This kind of desperation frightens me. Then again, that kind of desperation is not unique to a kinky lifestyle. . .it's just that there are perhaps more physical dangers involved in certain bdsm activities. Anyway, there isn't much you can do for them and they will continue to put themselves at risk and we will continue to hear sad stories of submissives being badly treated, wounded, or even sexually assaulted.

It is sad :(

I encounter cringe-worthy profile often. They sometimes appear when I open my account, sometimes have messaged my companion and she shows them to me, and occasionally I click on them in the forums. Usually it is the grammar or spelling that make me cringe, but sometimes it is the extreme ideas in the message itself. Ugh!
