In fact I find the California state of mind refreshing as compared to how provincial much of the nation is. Be that as it may- as romantic as that state is- is has huge obstacles- with road congestion and population growth.
One thing I admire is there is always something to do there. A few have moved back east here. I am told nothing to do in PA but eat fattening foods. Any place that dares to dream- is a fascinating place! :-)

*yawn* BlackWater is The biggest Privatly owned army in the world so yes they are going to have some swing within the government. They're better armed for two reasons; since they are private army backed by some of the biggest corperations in the world, not to mention the half dozen goverments that support them, so they can afford the latest model gear and weapons. Where as America is still using the same basic equipment they used back in the 80s and even their newer stuff are still made by the lowest bidder. Nice to know that when the US fights a war they by their shit at Walmart. And yes most of them are nuttier than squirrel turds, and give the rest of us 'mercenaries' a bad reputaion.

I am reminded of a previous article about Blackwater. They were in a convoy escorting a US State Department Employee. She recalled them driving at speeds of 100 miles per hour. The convoy came up on a civilian car on a narrow part of the road, there was no way for the car to stop and safely get out of the convoy way. So the front Blackwater vehicle ramed the civilian car forcing it into a nearby rivian. The State Department Employee asked her driver why they did that and the driver, laughing replied "They were possible Terrorists" she responded by saying "If they weren't they are now". I think this really applies now.
