quote:
ORIGINAL: kittensmailbox Can a Dom claim to own a slave if the slave does not live with the Dom and visa versa... If that is what you believe, then for you...sure. Others don't believe it...Knight and kyra, ownedgirlie and "Mr. Wonderful" are just two great examples. Others have also spoken up. I have had 3 submissives and out of those 3, only 1 lived with me for any length of time. Ownership is what the people involved make it...2 of my 3 submissives did a fine job of living within the D/s dynamic that we created. 1 submissive had a more difficult time with it but that was because she was also, unbeknown to me, fostering a relationship with her former owner. But you know what...she could have been doing that while living with me, right under my nose. Not because I am blind but because I am one of those dominants (and humans) who trusts what someone is telling me, especially when they are good at covering their ass. Proximity would not have made a difference in this case. So, as stated at the beginning of this paragraph, it comes down to what you need to feel owned and then finding a dominant who agrees with your viewpoint or one who is similar enough in all other areas that you can begin moving together toward what the two (or three or whatever) of you decide is necessary for "ownership" to be in place.
