ORIGINAL: WinsomeDefiance This is just me, and my personal thoughts on the matter, but I've always thought that the bestowing of a collar and the honor of wearing one was enhanced by the possibility that it could be removed and taken back by ones owner. I don't mean as a symobl of blackmail nor something that would be done lightly, but a definite reality of something that was a possibility. In one sense, I could see how one could take comfort - feeling as if there was this unremoval symbol of their commitment to each other. On the other hand, there is just something about a tangible, tactile object that makes the whole thing less idealistic and more REAL in my mind. Then again, I can see how exciting it might be to watch someone bleed and be permanently marked with the symbol of their slavery. (sighs) I only have two hands, and I keep bouncing from one thought to the other with no real clarity so I'm just going to say wow, cool idea, not for me or mine (far as I can ever forsee) but still very cool. I agree with a lot of what has been said here. Should my Master ever release me, he gets his collar back. Hard for him to do, however, if it is permanently affixed to me. I also like having a tangible metal object around my neck. So often I find myself playing with it between my fingers, usually when I'm in unfamiliar territory. Like a security blanket :) I do, however, have his insignia tattood on my right flank - where one would brand owned lifestock. This constitutes his brand of ownership on me, which served a different purpose than his collar. I love them both. Finally, my thoughts on an actual tattood collar around the neck - - better plan for lots of lifts as you age into your elderly senior years or it will turn into a drooping, 17" necklace!
