Perhaps it has something to do with the tone, aside from a general descriptive use, as in 'That woman has left her bag behind'  or in a few songs, the word seems to be full of unspoken pejorative.

Does anyone else feel the same way, or perhaps about another word?

Perhaps I am just weird, I am always ready to accept that.

Well, there are varying positive and negative undertones to each word in the way they are used in the world.

Really need more information - how does it specifically make you feel when you're called "woman". Is it a hard tone inside your head? Does it make you feel defensive or older... knowing what your reaction to the word is will help you understand why you don't like it.
