"WOODLAND, Calif. - A dentist accused of fondling the breasts of 27 female patients is trying to keep his dental license by arguing that chest massages are an appropriate procedure in certain cases. Mark Anderson's lawyer says dental journals discuss the need to massage the pectoral muscles to treat a common jaw problem. Police say Anderson said during recorded phone calls that he routinely massaged patients' chests to treat temporo-mandibular joint disorder, or TMJ, which causes neck and head pain."

And if it was that common, how come he didn't explain it? You know, you need to be attentive to not biting pencils, grinding when stressed, you need to wear a night guard for sleeping, and you need to massage your breasts nightly. How come it only works if it's done by him once every three months or six months, or whatever time period they saw the dentist?

I can't say a massage can't fix teeth. However, a massage in most cases, will cause a person to relax. While relaxing, your jaw will normally loosen up.

Despite how much a boob rub or any other message might help with TMJ, the dentist still has to have consent from his patients. Also, why are all these cases comming from females? If this is a true practice, then why aren't there any men steping up saying they had there chest rubbed as well?

In theory, this guy might survive criminal court by the skin of his teeth. However, despite his argument, I think this dentist is still looking at atleast some serious civil law suits for not fully explaining his procedures and getting consent from his patients.

I like the way 27 women were taken in by this scam. How? How can there possibly be 27 women in the world who would be taken in by that?

Let's see, it's Saturday tomorrow, I have no intentions of going into town, so I won't see that many women during the day...probably around 5, so the law of averages tells me that 2 of those 5 will be more than happy to let me have a rummage 'round under their bra on the basis that I'll help their teeth.....all I need to do is choose the 2 women wisely.....

well i can understand a massage to relax and loosen up but the fact taht hes trying to link breasts specifically to teeth is what caught me off guard. i dunno, but this is SO not going to help my fear of the dentist. i have enough issues with feeling trapped in the chair. im fine when its upright, something about the back going down, my feet going up and those arm rests things on the side trapping me in, just kinda isnt good

What the hell?  Where was this dentist when I was sufferring through a root canal twice on the same tooth?

I wonder if it's him really duping these women or laughing gas.  Because I have dental anxiety issues I have to be gassed for anything other than minor procedures.  I can honestly tell you with enough of that stuff, anyone could do anything to me and I wouldn't know the difference.  Thus, although my dentist is the Mr. Rogers type and I trust him, I never go alone.

The other bloke is in on it, too....in fact, it was his idea....."gas her, and we'll have an hour of tits and beer" (your mate)....."let's" (your dentist)....."I'll bring the video recorder" (your mate)......."how does you tube work. again?" (your dentist).....

If memory serves, you were quite happy to go to the dentists and have a few teeth pulled out without any need for anaesthetic.......until your person suggested you need gas for dental work........which, incidentally, he announced two minutes after a private chat and coffee with your dentist.....

laurell3 -> RE: Rubbing breasts helps teeth? (10/12/2007 8:47:32 PM)

I wish :(

I've actually tried therapy to get over the intense needle phobia, so sadly, no, it's existed since childhood.  Nice try though [8D]

Fair enough, then.....almost worked! The women in my family are the same (except my sister)...they're completely traumatised by the dentist. It's not uncommon by any stretch of the imagination, but if you can give birth...you know, take the size of a head...well, what's a needle?

laurell3 -> RE: Rubbing breasts helps teeth? (10/12/2007 8:55:47 PM)

I'm actually ashamed of it.  But from what my dentist says it's really very common as a) people can't see and don't have any idea what the dentist does for the most part so the unknown adds to the fear and b) the anesthetic has nowhere to go so the pressure adds to the simple needle pain.

Mine however, isn't the actual sensation as much as an absolute freakish panic over the needle, so the giving birth analogy doesn't actually work that well.  It defies logic, but I'm terrified.
