I'm actually ashamed of it.  But from what my dentist says it's really very common as a) people can't see and don't have any idea what the dentist does for the most part so the unknown adds to the fear and b) the anesthetic has nowhere to go so the pressure adds to the simple needle pain.

Mine however, isn't the actual sensation as much as an absolute freakish panic over the needle, so the giving birth analogy doesn't actually work that well.  It defies logic, but I'm terrified.

Well, it may have more logic than appears at first sight....there could be evolutionary factors...early man/woman needed teeth to eat, so evolution may dictate that any foreign object near the mouth causes a reaction in the brain..........

Admittedly, that is a weak argument based more on magic than science......

It's true.
I thought everyone knew about it.
It's the same principle as acupuncture.

Its quite logical to be anxious at the thought of the needle.
I had a tooth out about 10 days ago and the jab was really painful.

The dentist could have rubbed anything if it would have helped.
He got the tooth out with no probs. tho'.

Fits perfectly with Natural Selection then

the key to any needle is to SEVERELY RELAX.

the electronic needles slip in easier then --- well- easy.

Regardless of what anyone thinks about what it takes to relax. I can tell you from first hand experience that cock massage followed with orgasim causes my jaw to relax very much. If these medical journels are accurate, I may never suffer from TMJ.

My dentist is hawwwt. Hell I'd let him masssage my throat with his cock.

Zensee -> RE: Rubbing breasts helps teeth? (10/13/2007 4:47:47 PM)

Massaging breasts causes smiling.

Smiling exposes teeth to ultraviolet light.

Ultraviolet light kills bacteria.

Fewer bacteria equals fewer cavaties.

Thus breast massage is good for the teeth.

PS: came4u - I thought about being a dentist... I'm on the west coast, BTW.

Thanks Zensee, I didn't realise they were the same topic! This was what I posted there: Actually... just a few days ago I did have my entire collarbone area and upper chest massaged as well as my jaw massaged when I had my teeth cleaned. Oh, and a parafin (sp?) hand dip [:D] . I wuv my dentist. *****************I have major league TMJ, my mouth opens 1/4" on a good day. If I didn't get the massage during a cleaning, gods the pain afterward would be excruciating [:o]. Some TMJ is mild, maybe clicking while yawning or a muscle tiredness. Some is not so mild.In all honesty it is the worst ailment I have. The Lupus n Fibro n other stuff is a cakewalk in comparison to TMJ. Yanno, I have 15% of the cartilage remaining on my left side which means that no splint in the world will help. They don't fit in my mouth lol.Much of the time I can't even speak, so that is yet another reason I freakin love the internet. I can 'talk' all day long without pain. Knock on wood for carpal tunnel eh?
