SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. - A jury awarded $6.1 million Friday to a woman who said she was forced to strip in a McDonald's back office after someone called the restaurant posing as a police officer.

Louise Ogborn, 21, had sued McDonald's Corp., claiming the fast-food giant failed to warn her and other employees about the caller who already struck other McDonald's stores and other fast-food restaurants across the country.

Ogborn had been seeking $200 million. McDonald's Corp. attorneys argued the company was not responsible and contended the company was being sued because of its deep pockets.

But did you see any of the reports on this incident?  The real offense was the criminal abuse of the girl, by her supervisors and co-workers, while acting in their capacity as McDonald's employees. It's the most insane thing you ever saw.  You wouldn't believe people could behave this way, when only minutes earlier, they were just going about a normal day.

Her female supervisor refused to allow her to leave or get dressed, or even to take her to the police station, which the girl begged her to do, after she was strip searched for a woman's purse the caller claimed the girl had stolen (?)  The supervisor also brought a male co-worker back, to witness some of this.

Then, the supervisor brought in her fiance', who wasn't even an employee, a middle-aged man twice the size of the girl, to force her to remain in the back room, with him.  He forced her to perform exercises, nude, in front of him, assaulted her and then forced her to perform oral sex on him.  This went on for almost three hours!  All along, the supervisor was coming in and out of the room.  Eventually, the supervisor brought in yet another man, the janitor, and when he saw what was going on, he wasn't having any of it.  The only person with a grain of common decency or sense, in the bunch - the janitor at McDonalds.

It's all on video - and not that grainy, indecipherable convenience store video, either.  One surprising thing, to me, is that the supervisor apparently wasn't aware that they were under surveillance, during the entire insane situation.

When they interviewed her, they showed the supervisor a moment on the tape, when the girl came and huddled next to her, leaning her head on the older woman's shoulder.  According the girl, she was begging in the woman's ear, to please save her, help her.  The supervisor said to the interviewer, "No, she wasn't.  She wasn't saying that."  In the tape, she shrugged her off, and bustled back out of the room.

And how was the supervisor treated, for her role in this?  Not a day in jail.  One year's probation.  And,....wait for it...
the supervisor got one million dollars, in a settlement to her lawsuit againt McDonald's.

If it’s all real
Just kill me"

Freaking incredible.

SweetShyBBW4u -> RE: McDonalds must pay for strip search hoax (10/6/2007 7:25:03 AM)

I saw this report last night and was disgusted over how the supervisor ended up getting money and the way she responded to all of the questions asked of her. She seemed so cold but yet when it came time to testify she was all tears. She deserved time served in jail and NO MONEY

At least one of the pieces of shit went to jail.

I'm still trying to figure out  why the girl in question allowed this.
Are there any one of you out there who would comply with directives like that?    I hate to seem harsh, but this girl was awarded 6 million for not using her brain?

Edited to add:  I agree that both the manager and the other employess should have also gotten jail time and certainly not a cash award.   Again...how many would comply with such directives given over the phone?

Good point, spankmepink; but, as much as I dislike mindless behaviour, I'm still far more upset with the others.

This scam has been successful, not the rape part but strip searches, dozens of times over the last 15 years or so. Police believe one guy in Florida did all of the calls. Unfortunately when he was prosecuted for this incident he was found not guilty.

I saw a little about him; if I remember correctly, when he was busted, the calls stopped? I need to read up further, I think.

MadameMarque -> RE: McDonalds must pay for strip search hoax (10/6/2007 8:05:37 AM)

It may be because, initially, the girl, who at the time was maybe 18?, thought that this was her supervisor and the police, accusing her of a crime, and she thought she had to comply and submit to a search.

By the time the caller's directives were too ridiculous to be true, she was actually being prevented from leaving, had no clothes or phone, and the people holding her were acting totally inappropriately.  Imagine how it would feel, as things just get worse and worse, more out of control, and you're stuck in a little room with this guy and his fiance' looming over you.

The one thing I did wonder, is that she didn't scream for help - I don't know if she would have been audible to customers - or just run naked, out of the room.  But maybe she was afraid it would provoke them to violence.  That wouldn't have been an unreasonable fear.

On the stand, the girl said that she wondered if it was going to be her last day on earth.  I would have wondered, myself, because after these people have committed all these criminal acts, what are they going to do about you not telling anyone?  Even if it really had been a policeperson on the phone, that would actually be even worse, because the acts were still illegal, and if a law enforcement officer were involved...?

Jesus Fucking Christ.

Tell your children, if you are told to take your clothes off, it better be in a cold room and everyone there has a badge. These fucking rentacops think they have it all "going on", and supervisors and managers think they are God. What the fuck.

If that girl was my sister I would give her a good talking to and teach her how to say "Go fuck yourself". Then those other people, well I would be on death row if I got caught, and I probably would because of the family connection. Torturing a few people to death is hard to get away with in the first place, add motive, get convicted.

Reminds me of an incident I heard about a few years ago. An old person comes out of the drugstore and finds they have no headlights, and it is dark. The security guard refused to let her drive her own car. As I was told of this I said I would've left that rentacop in a pool of blood. The teller of the story said that I would wind up in jail and I replied that he would still be laying there dying.

People exceed their authority every day, and others put up with it. Perhaps I see this more because I am the type to question even the jurisdiction of a court. You have to know who the fuck you are talking to. To do this you need the proper upbringing. And people do not have it. People are taught not to question authority.

If that girl was my daughtrer I would've given her a spanking for taking her knickers down in front of people. Then I would wreak havoc on the people who started all this shit. And I would be glad that the fucking asshole who made the call got acquitted, because he is next. He would have a hole in his mouth, all the way back through his head.

Don't think me angry or quick to temper, but there are some things that are just plain wrong. People need an incentive to stop doing these things. Physical injury is an excellent deterrent.

Speaking of which, doesn't this girl have any brothers or a Father ? Because believe me, if this ever happened to my sister (it would not in the first place) I would be on the news.

Where is people's common sense ?

That's a common tactic used by rapists and even serial killers. They will sometimes even get a hold of a badge and claim to be police.

With Mc Donalds being a Franchise, where does the responsiblity of the Owner come into play? What keeps the owner from having to pay any of this Law Suit? After all, it's not like an excecutive of Mc D's Corp came down to perform the strip search.

If such crimes or pranks where being done to other Mc Donalds and restaurants in the area, where was the media and police reports on this one? It's not like every incident and prank is reported to the corporation. Why not sue the police for not warning the community that such pranks where taking place? Did the managment staff of these other restaurants also conduct a full strip search on there accused employees? Where they all that dumb to fall for it?

If Mc Donalds is going to keep endureing such Law Suits, it may want to rethink its Franchise arrangments.

So you support old people driving in the dark with no headlights?  I doubt anyone else driving on the same streets at the same time would be so gung-ho about that[8D].  I'm usually 110% for people's rights not being violated but if that "rentacop" had known this elderly person had no headlights and stood there and watched her drive off, God forbid she be involved in the slightest mishap.  Someone would have found a way to hold the guard responsible for not intervening.  You can't win.  You intervene and you're a dick.  You don't and their blood is on your hands when they do something stupid.  Geesh..........luci
